Gaza and the West Bank Under Fire: Massacres and Unrelenting Violations
The Zionist enemy continued its escalation of violations against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday, through a series of arrests, attacks, and ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement. This coincided with the continuation of settlement policies, restrictions on Palestinians, and attacks targeting their educational, social, and humanitarian lives.
A Bloody Toll
In the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Zionist aggression since October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,942 martyrs and 172,967 injuries, amidst the ongoing repercussions of the war and the widespread destruction and escalating humanitarian suffering it has caused.
The Ministry explained that hospitals received one martyr and nine new injuries in the past 24 hours, while a number of martyrs remain under the rubble and in the streets due to the inability of ambulance and civil defense teams to reach them.
Ongoing Violations
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that Israeli forces committed 3,076 violations of the ceasefire agreement from its inception until the end of May.
The office indicated that Israel continues to obstruct the entry of humanitarian aid and the movement of travelers. The implementation of the understandings related to aid and travel has not exceeded one-third of what was agreed upon, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip.
In the latest violations, two Palestinians were killed and others wounded by shelling and gunfire carried out by Israeli forces in various areas of the Gaza Strip, including Khan Younis and the town of Al-Zawayda in the central Gaza Strip.
Israeli forces also carried out extensive demolition operations, gunfire, and artillery shelling targeting several areas in the eastern part of the Gaza Strip, in a clear continuation of their repeated violations of the ceasefire.
Jerusalem Under Escalation
In occupied Jerusalem, the monthly report issued by the Jerusalem Governorate revealed a dangerous escalation in Israeli violations during May. 7,244 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, while Israeli forces arrested 101 Palestinians, including three women and nine children.
The report documented the killing of three Palestinians and the wounding of 17 others during attacks by the occupation forces and settlers, in addition to recording 45 settler attacks targeting citizens, their property, and Islamic holy sites.
The report also documented 84 demolition and bulldozing operations targeting Palestinian homes and structures, including 21 cases of forced self-demolition, as well as the issuance of dozens of deportation and administrative detention orders, and new settlement plans aimed at expanding settlements and imposing new realities on the ground.
Arrests Will Not Break Our Will
In the occupied West Bank, Hamas affirmed that the widespread arrest campaign carried out by the enemy in Nablus, Tulkarm, and other areas, which targeted dozens of citizens, including university students and released prisoners, represents an extension of the policies of collective punishment and the systematic targeting of the Palestinian people.
Hamas leader Abdul Rahman Shadid stated that the Israeli entity is attempting, through these campaigns, to intimidate Palestinians and break their national will. However, he asserted that these policies will not succeed in undermining the steadfastness of the Palestinian people or deterring them from adhering to their rights and national principles.
He pointed out that the escalation of arrests and raids reflects the anxiety the enemy is experiencing in the face of the growing spirit of resistance in the West Bank. He called upon the international community and human rights organizations to take action to stop these violations and hold the entity accountable for its crimes.
Ongoing Escalation
These developments reflect the extent of the violations that the Zionist enemy continues to perpetrate against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem. This escalation is characterized by intensified arrests, raids, settlement expansion, military attacks, and ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement. As these crimes persist, the suffering of Palestinians intensifies on all humanitarian and living standards.
