Araghchi to Aoun: Save Lebanon from its real enemy, Mr. President

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi mocked the voices of justification that are trying to divert the focus of the conflict from the massacres committed by the Zionist and American enemy against the nation.

Araghchi responded to the claims of former Lebanese President Michel Aoun, saying: “According to Mr. Aoun’s statements, it seems that Iran is the one that occupied one-fifth of Lebanese territory, displaced a quarter of its population, and bombs his country daily.”

Araghchi added via his account on the “X” platform: “If Lebanon were a bargaining chip for Iran, we would have reached an agreement a long time ago,” addressing the Lebanese president by saying, “Save Lebanon from its real enemy, Mr. President!”

Militarily, the Revolutionary Guard targeted US bases in the region with missiles, following the latter’s aggression against the islands of Sirik and Qeshm, according to Iranian television.

The Revolutionary Guard confirmed that, in response to the American aggression, two American air bases in Kuwait and what remained of the naval base in Bahrain were targeted.

The Guard explained that the American aggression targeted a communications center in Qeshm and another in Sirik using drones.

The Guard added that this aggression came after four oil tankers, incited and directed by the US, attempted to leave the Strait of Hormuz illegally and without coordination or heeding the Revolutionary Guard’s maritime warnings.

The US military had announced that it had launched raids on Iranian radar sites in Goruk and Qeshm Island, claiming that it was a “defensive action.”

The Kuwaiti army reported hearing explosions at night, explaining that they were caused by air defenses intercepting missile and drone attacks.

For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Interior sounded air raid sirens.

Despite the ceasefire declared between Iran and the United States through Pakistani mediation since April 8, 2026, Washington carries out attacks against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz and other areas, while the Iranian armed forces respond to these attacks. American destroyers and ships attempt to cross the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran responds to that as well
