June 7th: An Open Record of Blood and Destruction Exposing the Crimes of the US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Against the Yemeni People
June 7th is one of the days that holds within its details painful chapters in the record of the US-Saudi-Emirati aggression against Yemen. The documented events of this day, spanning successive years of aggression, reveal the extent of the crimes and violations targeting civilians, infrastructure, and service facilities in various Yemeni governorates.
From the massacres that claimed dozens of lives in Sana’a, Hajjah, and Sa’dah, to the targeting of roads, markets, camps, homes, and residential neighborhoods, and the continuous artillery and missile bombardment of border villages, the aggression is depicted in its most horrific form, confirming that civilians have remained the primary target of this war, which has dragged on for years and left behind one of the greatest humanitarian tragedies of the modern era.
2015: Massacres Shake Sana’a, Hajjah, and Sa’dah
June 7, 2015, witnessed one of the bloodiest episodes of the early months of the aggression, as the coalition warplanes committed a series of horrific massacres in several governorates.
In the capital, Sana’a, 44 civilians were killed and more than 100 others, including women and children, were wounded in airstrikes targeting the Supreme Command building of the Armed Forces in the Al-Tahrir district. The effects of the explosions extended to neighboring districts, causing widespread destruction to homes and property.
In Hajjah Governorate, the death toll from the targeting of the Omar bin Abdulaziz School, the doctors’ residence, the health center, and a civilian’s home in the Bakil Al-Mir district rose to 39 martyrs and 20 wounded after more victims were pulled from the rubble. This crime exemplified the extent of the direct targeting of civilian and service facilities.
The death toll from airstrikes targeting a displaced persons camp in the Hiran district and the village of Daghij has risen to 20, with more than 60 wounded, in yet another crime targeting the most vulnerable and suffering segments of society.
In Sa’dah Governorate, four civilians, including women and children, were killed and five others wounded in the bombing of Al-Qabil village in the Sahar district. A woman and her two children were also killed, and four others wounded, in an airstrike that targeted a house in the Al-Mahather area. In the Saqayn district, a woman was killed, others were wounded, and civilian homes were damaged in five consecutive airstrikes.
The attacks were not limited to populated areas; vital roads were also targeted. The main road linking the governorates of Sa’dah, Amran, and Sana’a was targeted in an attempt to disrupt civilian movement and inflict further suffering on civilians.
2016: Military Escalation and Targeting of Civilian Property and Infrastructure
On June 7, 2016, the aggression and its mercenaries continued to target Yemeni governorates with aerial and artillery bombardment.
In Marib Governorate, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes launched two airstrikes on the strategic Mount Helan in the Sarwah district, coinciding with artillery shelling that targeted the Al-Hamda and Al-Hazm areas in the Harib Al-Qaramish district.
In Hajjah Governorate, an airstrike targeted the Al-Jar area in the Abs district, while Amran Governorate was subjected to an airstrike that targeted the Harf Sufyan district.
In Taiz Governorate, artillery shelling that targeted the Bir Basha area caused a fire in a sponge factory, while several areas in Nihm in Sana’a Governorate and Asilan in Shabwa Governorate were subjected to continuous missile and artillery shelling, causing widespread property damage.
2017: A Child Killed and Airstrikes Target Markets and Public Roads
On June 7, 2017, a child was killed by a shell fired by coalition mercenaries at a house in the Sofitel neighborhood of Taiz city, while the Al-Jund, Jabal A’la, Tabat Ha’il, Yakhtal, and Jabal Gharab areas were subjected to a series of airstrikes.
In Sana’a Governorate, airstrikes targeted the Al-Tabah Al-Sawda’ area in the Nihm district with four raids, and also struck Jabal Al-Nahdain in the capital, causing damage to public and private property.
In Ma’rib Governorate, airstrikes targeted the Sarwah market, Wadi Habab, and the main road, coinciding with artillery shelling that struck various areas of the district.
In Sa’dah, the Munabbih and Haydan districts were subjected to Saudi missile and artillery shelling, while airstrikes targeted Al-Buqa’, Al-Barqa, and Aal Salim in the Kataf district, in addition to the Liya area in the Al-Dhaher district.
2018: Targeting of Popular Markets and Journalists
On June 7, 2018, a woman was injured and her house destroyed as a result of Saudi missile and artillery shelling that targeted the Shada’ border district in Sa’dah Governorate.
In Al-Jawf Governorate, a cameraman for Al-Masirah TV was injured while performing his professional duty covering field events in the Al-Matun district, in yet another indication of the targeting of journalists and those working to report the truth.
The districts of Al-Matun and Al-Maslub witnessed a series of intense airstrikes, while warplanes targeted the Al-Majawha area in the Nihm district of Sana’a Governorate.
In Al-Hudaydah Governorate, a popular market in Ras Bara’a was subjected to 14 consecutive airstrikes, resulting in significant damage to shops and civilian property. Two airstrikes also targeted the Al-Luhayyah district.
2019: Crimes in Al-Hudaydah and Al-Dhali’
On June 7, 2019, an elderly woman, a child, and a man were killed, and three others were seriously injured by artillery shelling that targeted residential neighborhoods on Al-Shuhada Street in the Al-Hali district of Al-Hudaydah Governorate.
A child was also injured by mercenary fire in the Al-Jabaliyah area of the Al-Tuhayta district. Meanwhile, large areas of Al-Hudaydah, Al-Durayhimi, and Al-Jah were subjected to heavy shelling with more than fifty rockets and shells targeting civilian farms and property.
In Al-Dhale’ province, mercenaries of the aggression stormed a mosque in Al-Azariq district, killing six civilians and arresting four others, in a crime that sparked widespread condemnation.
The aggression’s warplanes also launched two airstrikes on Jabal Al-Nahdain in the capital, Sana’a, and four airstrikes on Majazah in Asir.
2020: Dozens of airstrikes on Ma’rib, Sa’dah, and Al-Jawf
On June 7, 2020, the aggression’s warplanes escalated their air attacks, targeting various areas in the districts of Ma’rib, Sa’dah, and Al-Jawf with 16 airstrikes.
