The Zakat and Endowments Authority organizes a speech event to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the scholar Sayyid Badr al-Din al-Houthi

The Zakat and Endowments Authority and the Guidance Authority organized today a speech and chanting event to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of the eminent scholar, the Mujahid, Badr al-Din bin Amir al-Din al-Houthi.

At the event, attended by Ambassador Abdul-Ilah Hajar, Advisor to the President of the Supreme Political Council for Diplomatic Affairs, Sheikh Shamsan Mohsen Abu Nashatan, Head of the General Authority for Zakat, emphasized the importance of commemorating the passing of the eminent scholar Badr al-Din bin Amir al-Din al-Houthi, whose life was filled with intellectual contributions, faith-based struggle, and sacrifice for the sake of God and the upholding of truth.
Abu Nashatan noted that the passing of scholars represents a loss for the nation, especially those scholars who embody the Prophetic message and the noble character of Muhammad, raising the banner of knowledge and struggle with utmost sincerity, humility, and faith, such as the esteemed scholar Badr al-Din al-Houthi.
He said, “When we commemorate this great anniversary, we are reviving a nation through struggle, sacrifice, and giving, and by carrying the banner of Islam, especially during this exceptional period in which the nation faces the enemies of God in a decisive battle that demands everyone feel a sense of responsibility through awareness, faith, and struggle.”
He added, “When we review the life of the esteemed scholar Badr al-Din, we stand before an exceptional figure, a scholar who spoke the truth and sacrificed himself, his wealth, and his children for the sake of God.”

For his part, the Deputy Head of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, Allamah Fuad Naji, reviewed aspects of the late Allamah Badr al-Din al-Houthi’s scholarly and jihadist life. He noted how al-Houthi moved between schools and battlefields, residing on mountaintops and in valleys, spreading the message of God during that critical period.
Naji highlighted al-Houthi’s piety, righteousness, truthfulness, wisdom, and humility, as well as the great sacrifices he made, making him a role model of faith. Allamah Naji explained that the deceased was a model of a truly learned scholar who combined knowledge with action, dedicating his life to serving the Holy Quran and raising generations on its principles and values. He emphasized that al-Houthi’s scholarly and intellectual works continue to be an important resource for researchers and students of knowledge.
He said: “In this event, we commemorate a scholar of the nation, a prominent figure in science and jihad, and a pillar of this nation, a jurist of the Qur’an and a leader from whose loins God brought forth leaders for this nation.
He called for drawing lessons and insights from this figure, who became a school of values ​​and principles, and for benefiting from his scientific writings in various fields, which are still a sweet spring from which scholars, researchers, and students of knowledge draw.

For his part, Sheikh Muqbil al-Kadahi, the Undersecretary of the Endowments and Guidance Authority for the Hajj and Umrah Sector, praised the virtues of the esteemed scholar Badr al-Din al-Houthi and his intellectual legacy, commending his writings in which he elucidated the meanings of jurisprudential and scholarly texts.
He recounted aspects of the late scholar’s life, noting that he sought only God’s favor through knowledge, not wealth, worldly gain, or the love of status, nor did he seek favor with rulers. He emphasized that the deceased never feared an oppressive tyrant, and that he waged war with his pen against Salafist Wahhabism and political Wahhabism, and with his weapon against the oppressive state.

The event, attended by agents, leaders and members of the Zakat and Endowments and Guidance authorities, included a visual presentation that referred to part of the biography of the late Mr. Badr al-Din al-Houthi, a choral operetta by the Ansar Allah group and a poem by the poet Hamza al-Maghribi.
