15 killed , 15 others injured in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon
Fifteen people were killed and 15 others wounded on Wednesday in Israeli airstrikes targeting towns in the Tyre district and the city of Sidon in southern Lebanon, amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli airstrikes on Tyre and surrounding areas killed 13 people and injured 15 others, with casualties reported in the towns of Tyr Debba and Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, as well as the Popular Housing area.
According to the agency, rescue teams were still searching through the rubble in Tyr Debba, which was hit by nine airstrikes carried out by Israeli warplanes and drones. Israeli aircraft also targeted the town of Kfar Dounine, the report added.
In Sidon, two people were killed in a drone strike targeting a vehicle near near a Civil Defense center and Al-Zaatari Mosque
Since March 2, Israeli occupation has intensified its military operations across Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities and civilian infrastructure, leaving thousands dead or injured and displacing nearly 1.5 million Lebanese civilians.
A temporary ceasefire agreement entered into force in mid-April, but Lebanese authorities say Israeli forces have continued to commit near-daily violations of the truce.
