In response to the aggression, Iran targets US bases and vows a harsher response.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that its naval force carried out an operation targeting 21 targets at US air and naval bases in the region, and shot down an MQ-9 drone.
He explained in a statement that, as the enemy’s attacks continued, and as part of completing the process of responding in kind, the Aerospace Force of the Revolutionary Guard carried out an attack using long-range solid-fuel missiles, targeting four important targets.
The statement indicated that among the targets were F-35 fighter jet hangars at Al-Azraq Air Base, in addition to the US Army’s command and control center in Jordan.
The Revolutionary Guard confirmed that its forces are fully prepared to deliver a “crushing and decisive response” to any new aggression, holding the United States responsible for the consequences of any further attack. In the same vein, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters in Iran announced that Iranian forces targeted a number of American bases in the region in retaliation for the recent attacks on Iranian cities.
The headquarters explained in a statement that the strikes came in response to the American aggression that targeted areas in the south of the country under the pretext of the downing of one of the helicopters, stressing that the Iranian response falls within the framework of defending sovereignty and national security.
The Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters stressed that the US military should realize that any repetition of attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be met with stronger and more extensive responses, noting that pre-determined targets in the region will be within the scope of any future operations.
The statement affirmed that the Iranian armed forces maintain full readiness to deal with any developments on the ground, warning that continued escalation will lead to expanding the circle of confrontation and raising the level of military response.
Early this morning, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had shot down an American MQ-9 drone in the airspace of Bushehr province in southern Iran, confirming that its air defenses had successfully detected and intercepted it while it was flying near the area of operations in the northern Gulf.
The Revolutionary Guard explained, in a statement issued by the Public Relations Department, that the American drone was trying to approach the scene of the clashes and interfere with the ongoing operations, before it was confronted by the air defense units deployed in the area.
The statement indicated that the Revolutionary Guard’s air defense systems targeted the drone in the airspace of Jam city in Bushehr province, which led to its downing and complete destruction.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps confirmed that the Iranian armed forces continue to monitor the airspace and territorial waters with high precision, stressing their full readiness to confront any movement or infiltration that targets Iranian security and sovereignty.
