Iran responds to US claims regarding the nuclear program.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed on Tuesday that the recent attack on Iranian nuclear facilities has led to the suspension of verification activities by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the expulsion of its inspectors from the country for safety reasons.
He explained that the United States is trying to turn the effects of its illegal attack into a case against the Islamic Republic, by using the Board of Governors to put pressure on Iran.
Gharibabadi stressed that targeting nuclear facilities under international safeguards and obstructing the verification process constitutes a serious violation, and those responsible must be held internationally accountable.
He added that the attack was not directed against a secret program, but against declared facilities subject to the agency’s oversight, revealing a clear intention to disrupt the path of nuclear transparency and turn it into a political tool.
These statements reflect a firm Iranian stance in the face of Washington’s attempts to internationalize the nuclear crisis through international institutions, and place the international community before the responsibility of dealing with the attack as a direct threat to the international legal system for nuclear control.
