From under the rubble to behind bars: A never-ending Palestinian tragedy
In a scene where the chapters of the Palestinian tragedy accumulate day after day, the suffering of Palestinians continues from besieged Gaza to Jerusalem and the West Bank, amid crimes whose effects have not stopped at the limits of bombing and destruction, but have extended to affect people, holy sites, the right of patients to treatment, and prisoners to freedom.
While the number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip is rising to unprecedented levels, settler attacks and enemy incursions are escalating in the West Bank, reflecting the extent of the systematic targeting of the Palestinian people in all their places of residence.
Numbers and endless suffering
The Zionist war of extermination continues to claim the lives of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where the Ministry of Health announced that the death toll since October 2023 has risen to more than 73,000 martyrs, in addition to more than 173,000 wounded, in one of the bloodiest wars in history.
The tragedy is not limited to the number of martyrs, as many martyrs are still under the rubble and in the streets, while ambulance and civil defense crews face great difficulties in reaching them due to the scale of the destruction and the continued dangerous security conditions.
Patients caught between pain and siege
On another front of the humanitarian crisis, the Ministry of Health in Gaza warned of the possibility of suspending medical referrals due to restrictions imposed on patients traveling for treatment outside the Gaza Strip, stressing that thousands of patients are still waiting for the necessary approvals to leave Gaza and receive treatment.
The data indicates that more than 18,000 patients and injured people are in need of urgent medical evacuation, at a time when the closure of most hospitals has exacerbated the suffering of critical medical cases.
Al-Aqsa is under attack
In occupied Jerusalem, violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque continue, as dozens of settlers stormed its courtyards under the protection of enemy forces, and carried out provocative tours and performed Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.
Palestinians see these incursions as part of attempts to impose new realities inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, amid ongoing warnings about the danger of policies targeting the Islamic identity of Palestinian holy sites.
Attacks on mosques
In the West Bank, settler attacks have escalated to target places of worship, after two mosques were burned north of Ramallah, in a move that sparked widespread Palestinian condemnation. Palestinian factions considered it a crime targeting Islamic holy sites and reflecting the growing extremism and organized violence against Palestinians.
Palestinian forces confirmed that these attacks are part of a broader policy targeting the land, the people, and the holy sites, in the absence of any deterrent measures against the settlers.
Prisoners… suffering behind bars
Regarding the prisoners’ file, the Palestinian Prisoners Club considered that the confirmation of the detention of Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya represents a model of the policy of arbitrary detention that affects thousands of Palestinian detainees, especially those from the Gaza Strip.
The club explained that the enemy continues to use exceptional laws to justify open-ended detention, at a time when complaints of violations inside prisons and detention centers are increasing.
Ongoing arrests and raids
In parallel, the enemy forces continued to carry out widespread raids and arrests in the cities and towns of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, including storming homes and subjecting citizens to field investigations, amid frequent confrontations with the Palestinian population.
Ongoing tragedy
In light of this complex scene of killing, siege, arrests, and targeting of holy sites, the Palestinian tragedy is embodied in multiple forms, the title of which is the human being who faces daily challenges of survival and steadfastness.
Between wounded Gaza, targeted Jerusalem, and the West Bank burdened by incursions, the Palestinians remain steadfast in their attachment to their land and rights, despite the widening circle of suffering and the continuation of aggression.
