47 martyrs and 97 wounded in a bloody Zionist escalation in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire coming into effect

The Zionist enemy continued its violations and attacks on Lebanon, disregarding all understandings and declarations related to the ceasefire, as it launched a series of intensive raids on a number of southern regions and towns, which led to the fall of dozens of martyrs and wounded in a new escalation that reveals once again the nature of the occupation based on evading commitments and continuing aggression.

Lebanese media sources reported that Israeli enemy aircraft carried out more than 16 air raids targeting a number of towns and areas in southern Lebanon, hours after the announcement that the alleged “ceasefire agreement” had come into effect.

According to the sources, the Zionist raids targeted the areas of Shukin, Mefdoun, Jabal al-Rafie and al-Rayhan, in addition to the city of Nabatieh, which was subjected to a raid coinciding with the start of the announced agreement, in a clear indication of the occupation’s disregard for all the efforts and guarantees that accompanied the announcement of the cessation of military operations.

This escalation comes despite a senior US official telling Reuters that a ceasefire agreement between the Israeli enemy entity and Hezbollah had come into effect at 4 pm on Friday, which was quickly undermined by the continued Israeli raids on Lebanese territory.

The new aggression also occurred at a time when attention was focused on the outcomes of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, which included clauses stipulating a cessation of hostilities on various fronts, including the Lebanese arena, and affirming the unity and sovereignty of Lebanese territory.

In an initial tally reflecting the scale of the massacres committed by the occupying entity during the past hours, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the intense raids and attacks by the Israeli enemy from midnight on Friday until the afternoon hours resulted in the martyrdom of 47 citizens and the injury of 97 others with varying wounds.

This continued escalation confirms that the Zionist enemy is continuing its policy of targeting civilians, residential neighborhoods and Lebanese infrastructure, in light of the international community’s inability to compel it to respect the declared agreements and understandings, and the continued American cover that provides the occupation with a wide margin to continue its attacks and violations against the Lebanese people.

Observers believe that the raids, which coincided with the ceasefire coming into effect, represent a clear Zionist message that the occupation seeks to impose its equations by military force, ignoring all political paths and existing understandings, which further complicates the situation and threatens to thwart any efforts aimed at establishing stability and stopping the aggression against Lebanon.
