Sheikh Naim Qassem: The Zionist project has failed, and we will confront any violation of the entity in a manner we deem appropriate.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem confirmed that the ceasefire agreement concluded on November 27, 2024, came after the Zionist enemy’s attempts to end the resistance, noting that the balance of power imposed a different reality and thwarted those attempts.

Sheikh Qassem said that the Zionist enemy was supposed to move after the agreement to the stage of withdrawal and cessation of aggression, but it continued to bet on changing circumstances, considering that the head of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, was able to drag the American President, Donald Trump, into the war on Iran, based on the belief that striking Iran would weaken the resistance forces in the region.

He added that the American-Zionist project aimed to eliminate the “head of resistance” in the Arab and Islamic worlds, but this project failed, stressing that Iran emerged stronger despite the great sacrifices, and that the resistance in Lebanon was able to stand firm despite the scale of the aggression and targeting.

He pointed out that the Zionist enemy carried out thousands of raids on Lebanon, and Iran was subjected to tens of thousands of raids and attacks, but this did not achieve the declared goals of the war, considering that the current stage is the stage of the results of breaking the American-Israeli project against the resistance.

Regarding the ceasefire, Sheikh Qassem said that the Zionist enemy is offering a special interpretation of the agreement based on Hezbollah’s commitment to a ceasefire in exchange for the continuation of the occupation’s freedom of movement and attacks, considering that this does not represent a ceasefire but rather a continuation of the aggression.

He explained that all the initiatives that were put forward during the past months began with the resistance demanding a ceasefire for specific periods to test the occupation’s commitment, but the enemy did not comply, stressing that the resistance would comply with the proposed initiatives and then return to responding after the attacks continued.

He stressed that Hezbollah had made a decision not to return to the situation before March 2nd, emphasizing that a ceasefire meant a complete cessation of aggression by land, sea, and air, and a halt to demolition, incursion, and entrenchment operations in the occupied Lebanese territories, in preparation for withdrawal according to a clear timetable.

He stressed that any understanding with the Zionist enemy must be based on mutual security and the deployment of the Lebanese army south of the Litani River, emphasizing that the resistance rejects any projects related to disarmament or the imposition of new political conditions.

Sheikh Qassem said that the current stage is different from previous stages, because the Zionist project has been broken, and it is no longer possible to return to the discussions that were put forward when the enemy was in a position of strength and superiority.

He added that the resistance no longer accepts any equation that allows the Zionist enemy entity freedom of movement and aggression under the guise of a ceasefire, stressing that any violation by the enemy will be met with a response, and that the resistance will deal with any aggression as it sees fit.

He stressed that the resistance is committed to Lebanon’s right to full sovereignty over its territory, and that it rejects the continuation of the occupation or the imposition of new realities on Lebanese soil
