IRGC Targets US Military Sites in Region after attack on Iran

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced early Saturday morning that the United States launched an airstrike on the coast of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the pretext of a vessel violating an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz, following the Israeli entity’s violation of the ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon.

The Revolutionary Guard added in a statement carried by the Iranian news agency Tasnim that its naval forces responded to this attack by targeting US military positions in the region.

It clarified that Article 5 of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding stipulates that arrangements for monitoring maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz are to be coordinated with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It indicated that the United States has sought to violate this commitment through various actions and has received an appropriate response, emphasizing that any repeated aggression will be met with a broader response in the future.
