From hospitals to childhood graveyards… Gaza suffocates under siege and aggression

In light of the ongoing Zionist aggression and the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian catastrophe is rapidly worsening, amid an unprecedented collapse in the health and food sectors, and a worrying rise in the number of victims among children and women, in a scene that reflects the depth of the tragedy experienced by more than two million Palestinians inside the Strip.

The Zionist enemy continues its violations of the ceasefire agreement through sporadic bombing operations, the demolition of buildings, and direct targeting of civilians, in parallel with the continuation of the siege and the prevention of the entry of medical and food supplies, which exacerbates the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and makes daily life in Gaza closer to an open circle of death.

A health collapse threatens children’s lives
In the latest developments of the crisis, medical sources at Nasser Medical Complex warned of a complete depletion of infant formula of types (1 and 2), in addition to a severe shortage of therapeutic milk for critical cases, which directly threatens the lives of malnourished infants.

The sources confirmed that the absence of nutritional supplements, fruits and vegetables from markets and homes, along with the decline in mothers’ ability to breastfeed as a result of hunger, psychological stress and displacement, has led to a serious worsening of malnutrition cases among children.

In the same context, officials in the pediatric department explained that anemia rates among children and pregnant women have reached high levels, while a large number of children suffer from moderate to severe malnutrition, amid increasing pressure on hospitals that are operating with almost collapsed capabilities.

Continuous targeting and escalating losses
On the ground, the Zionist enemy continues its bombardment of various areas of the Gaza Strip, resulting in new martyrs and wounded, including civilians who died in direct attacks on the homes and tents of displaced people, while ambulance and civil defense crews are unable to reach many victims under the rubble.

According to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the cumulative death toll from the aggression since October 7, 2023 has risen to tens of thousands of martyrs, while the number of wounded has exceeded hundreds of thousands, while daily violations continue despite the announcement of ceasefire agreements.

A widening humanitarian catastrophe
Human rights and medical organizations confirm that the continued prevention of the entry of medical and food aid, along with the destruction of the health infrastructure, is pushing the sector towards a complete collapse, especially with the increasing numbers of children suffering from malnutrition and chronic diseases.

In light of this reality, the suffering of pregnant women and chronically ill patients is worsening, at a time when international organizations are warning of a prolonged humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the future of life in the entire sector.

Resilience under the ashes
Despite the magnitude of the disaster, Palestinians in Gaza continue to stand firm in the face of aggression and siege, clinging to their right to life and freedom, in humanitarian conditions described as among the worst in modern times.
