Baghaei: Nearly 100 countries to participate in funeral ceremony for martyred leader
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ismail Baghaei announced Thursday that guests from nearly 100 countries, including heads of state, parliamentary speakers, foreign ministers, and special government representatives, will participate in the funeral ceremony for the martyred leader of the revolution.
According to Iran’s Mehr News Agency, Baghaei stated in a phone interview with al-Khabar TV, “The funeral and farewell ceremony for the martyred leader of the revolution is a historic and very important event for the Iranian people, the peoples of the region, and Muslims worldwide.”
Baghaei added that “the farewell ceremony will begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, with the participation of numerous dignitaries and delegations, and will continue until noon.”
The Foreign Ministry spokesman clarified that “high-ranking officials from various countries and political figures will participate in the ceremony on Friday afternoon, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM.”
Baghaei continued: “We have guests from about 100 countries, including political figures, heads of state, speakers of parliament, foreign ministers, special representatives of governments, as well as a large number of public figures and delegations. Therefore, the farewell and honoring ceremonies will continue tomorrow, Friday, from 8:00 AM until the evening.”
