Iran warns Washington: The Strait of Hormuz is a red line… and any intervention will be met with a decisive response.
The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz is under full Iranian sovereignty, warning that any American interference in this vital waterway will be met with a “decisive and swift” response.
In a statement issued Thursday, the headquarters stressed that the Strait of Hormuz “is not a playground for the United States,” but rather an Iranian sovereign territory, emphasizing that the security and stability of this passage constitutes a red line for the armed forces.
He explained that all oil tankers and commercial vessels are obligated to adhere to the route specified by Iran to ensure safe passage, warning that any violation of the routes or disregard for Iranian navigation protocols will be met with immediate and decisive measures that jeopardize the security of the offending vessels.
The statement added that any American intervention or action deemed subversive in the Strait of Hormuz would be classified as a direct threat to Iranian sovereignty and would be met with a swift and decisive response from the armed forces.
He also considered that the continued flying of American fighter jets, whether manned or unmanned, over the Strait of Hormuz contributes to destabilizing security and threatening stability in the region.
The headquarters concluded by affirming that Iran, in the context of preserving its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, will not hesitate to take whatever measures are necessary to “crush any transgression or aggression” by US forces and their allies.
