Iranian President: The martyrdom of the Revolution’s leader is not the end of the road, but the beginning of a new phase, and the banner of resistance will not fall.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed that the martyrdom of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyid Ali al-Husseini Khamenei, does not represent the end of the Islamic Republic’s journey or its resistance project, but rather constitutes the beginning of a new chapter of steadfastness, unity, and resilience. He stressed that the banner carried by the martyred leader throughout his life will remain raised, and that the Iranian people will continue to follow his path and defend their country’s independence and sovereignty.
In a statement addressed to the Iranian people on the eve of the funeral and farewell ceremony for the body of the martyred leader of the revolution, President Pezeshkian described the occasion as one of the most impactful moments in the contemporary history of the Islamic Republic, stressing that Iran stands today at a historical juncture where the people gather to bid farewell to a leader who carried the banner of resistance and independence for decades, and dedicated his life to defending the country’s sovereignty and the nation’s dignity.
He explained that the martyrdom of the leader, despite the deep sorrow it caused in the hearts of Iranians and freedom fighters around the world, simultaneously revealed the strength of the Islamic Republic and the solidity of its structure, stressing that the strength of the regime is not based on individuals, but rather on faith, awareness, the will of the people, and the principles upon which the Islamic Revolution was founded.
Pezeshkian said that the martyrdom of the leader of the revolution is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new stage of solidarity and steadfastness, stressing that the Iranian people are accustomed to turning adversity into factors of strength, and that they will emerge from this test more united, steadfast and determined to continue the path of construction and independence.
The Iranian president affirmed that the ideology carried by the martyred leader, and his struggle that extended through the most difficult stages of contemporary history, will remain present in the conscience of the Iranian people and the free people of the world, because of what it embodied in adherence to independence, national sovereignty and resistance in the face of projects of hegemony and arrogance.
He pointed out that the martyred leader, with his unwavering faith, wisdom and courage, succeeded in consolidating the principles of the Islamic Revolution and strengthening Iran’s regional and international standing, stressing that his intellectual and political legacy will remain a beacon for future generations, and that the banner he maintained throughout his life will never fall, but the Iranian nation will continue to carry it and defend it.
President Pezeshkian called on the Iranian people, with their various national, political and religious affiliations, to participate widely in the funeral ceremonies for the leader of the revolution, stressing that this attendance will embody the unity of the people and their loyalty to the principles for which the martyred leader struggled, and will reflect the Iranians’ adherence to the option of independence, dignity and national sovereignty.
He explained that the broad popular participation in the funeral ceremonies would represent a clear political message to the world, and a practical response to terrorism, violence and policies of arrogance, stressing that the Iranian people will prove once again that they stand united in defending their homeland and their rights, and that the martyrdom of the leaders will not deter them from continuing the path of building and empowerment.
The Iranian president concluded by affirming that the Islamic Republic will continue its path with confidence and steadfastness, that the blood of the martyred leader will be an incentive for greater national cohesion, and that the will of the Iranian people will remain the fundamental guarantee for the continuation of the revolution’s journey, the preservation of the country’s independence, and the strengthening of its position in the face of challenges.
