US-Iranian negotiations expected next week

Axios reported that a round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is expected to take place next week in Switzerland, amid regional and international calls to contain tensions.

The American website quoted a source on Friday as saying that a new round of negotiations between America and Iran is expected to take place next week in Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian and Qatari foreign ministers on Friday called on the United States and Iran to return to the negotiating table within the framework of the memorandum of understanding to end the war in the Middle East, after the two sides exchanged attacks in recent days.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced in a statement that Minister Badr Abdel-Aty and his counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stressed during a telephone call “the importance of containing tensions and preventing the conflict from escalating.”
