Rezaei: There will be no more understanding with Washington… and a full-scale attack is our option if the aggression continues.

Major General Mohsen Rezaei, the military advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic of Iran, confirmed that the United States of America violated the terms of the signed memorandum of understanding to the point that “nothing remains of it but the name,” indicating that “there is no longer anything called the Islamabad Understanding, neither in name nor in deed.”

Rezaei warned that if the US attacks continue for a few more days, Tehran will be pushed into a phase of “comprehensive attack” on the ground that does not recognize political boundaries.

In an interview with Iranian television, Major General Rezaei detailed the manifestations of Washington’s violation of the agreement, saying: “Among the things that the United States violated in the memorandum of understanding are: the Zionist entity’s failure to withdraw from southern Lebanon, the establishment of an illegal corridor in the Strait of Hormuz despite the opening of the legitimate Iranian corridor, the lack of respect for Iran’s sovereignty, aggression against its coasts, and the failure to release the confiscated assets.”

Rezaei clarified the Iranian position on the waterway, stating definitively: “Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz to protect its security and the security of the global economy, and in response to the hostile actions of the United States,” while emphasizing: “We do not accept that the Americans have any role in the Strait of Hormuz, the global energy artery.”

The military advisor warned against bypassing the Iranian approach to managing waterways, stressing that “if the Iranian arrangements regarding the Strait of Hormuz are not adopted, West Asia will become an arena of conflict between global powers over energy.”

He added that “America’s claim to partnership in managing the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable to Europe, as well as to Russia and China, because it means dominating the world’s energy.”

In assessing the American objectives behind the recent escalation, Rezaei noted that “America’s goal in the military aggression of the past few days is to break the Iranian resistance.”

He brandished a decisive deterrent equation, saying: “If the American attacks continue for another two or three days, we will enter a phase of total attack, and in the phase of total attack, Iran will not be satisfied with just responding… The Americans should expect a barrage of Iranian missiles and drones.”

Major General Rezaei emphasized the Islamic Republic’s readiness on the ground to confront the current US administration, stating, “We will respond to Trump’s attacks on the ground.” He further elaborated on the strategic dimensions of the confrontation, saying, “Resilience in today’s battle, despite its difficulty, will guarantee Iran’s survival for the next fifty years.”

Rezaei concluded his remarks by emphasizing Tehran’s legal and principled rights, stressing that “America must pay compensation to the Iranian people.”

He also renewed his country’s firm commitment to avenging the blood of the martyred international leader, Mr. Ali Khamenei, saying: “We will not hesitate to avenge the blood of the martyred leader. Iran’s security and peace in the future depend on achieving revenge for the blood of the martyred leader of the Mujahideen and the martyrs of the imposed wars.”

These statements come in light of the return of American aggression against Iran, with attacks concentrated on its southern regions, which prompted Iranian responses with attacks targeting several American bases in the region, including Arab countries in the Gulf region, as well as Syria and Jordan.

In response to the attacks, the Revolutionary Guard’s naval force announced the complete re-closure of the Strait of Hormuz, after it had been opened according to specific routes under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, to which Washington responded by re-imposing a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
