The Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center (HOCC) in Sana’a issued a strongly worded warning to international companies against continuing to deal with the Saudi regime, stressing that the interests of these companies will be directly jeopardized as long as the aggression and blockade against the Yemeni people continue. This warning comes within the framework of establishing proof against the Saudi enemy and international shipping companies, and affirming Yemen’s legitimate right to defend its sovereignty and protect its people.
Escalation of naval operations and the legitimate right of self-defense
The notice issued by the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Centre (HOCC) explained that the naval military operations in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab are in response to the ongoing Saudi aggression and the unjust blockade imposed on Yemen.
He stressed that these operations are an integral part of Yemen’s right to self-defense, to protect its security and sovereignty, and to break the blockade that has caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe. The center emphasized that companies’ continued support for or dealings with the Saudi regime involved in the aggression make them complicit in these crimes and expose their ships and commercial interests to real risks in the maritime operations areas.
The notice indicated that Yemen would not hesitate to take all necessary measures to protect its interests and its people, and that any disregard for these warnings would be the full responsibility of the parties concerned.
Call for coordination with the Humanitarian Operations Center (HOCC)
The Centre for the Coordination of Humanitarian Operations (HOCC) called on all international shipping and commercial companies to coordinate directly with the Centre through the Emergency Coordination Team (CCT) to ensure the safety of their ships and crews.
He emphasized that CCT is ready to provide operational support and ongoing coordination, and to offer advice and guidance to companies to avoid any potential risks in offshore operations areas.
The center explained that coordination with the Emergency Task Force (CCT) aims to determine safe mechanisms and timings for ships to cross and avoid dangerous areas, in order to ensure the safety of maritime navigation and protect the commercial interests of companies that comply with the instructions.
