Foreign Ministry: Some countries adopt statements drafted by the US and Saudi Arabia and ignore the rights of the Yemeni people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates criticized the positions issued by some countries that ignored the blockade imposed by the Saudi regime on the Yemeni people, considering that these positions reflect a clear bias towards the aggression, and overlook the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people and the ongoing humanitarian suffering they are subjected to as a result of the blockade and continuous attacks.

The ministry confirmed in a statement issued today that the statements issued by a number of countries, which denied the continuation of the Saudi blockade on Yemen and condemned the decision of the Yemeni armed forces to ban maritime navigation for the Saudi enemy, came in a unified format, which confirms that they were prepared in advance and distributed to those countries by the United States or the Saudi regime, in an attempt to promote a misleading narrative and justify the aggressive practices against Yemen.

The statement explained that these positions deliberately ignore the reality of the blockade imposed on Yemen for years, and overlook its disastrous effects on various humanitarian, economic and service sectors, while ignoring the direct responsibility of the Saudi regime for the continued closure of airports and ports and the imposition of restrictions on the entry of basic, food and medical goods.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs questioned the extent to which countries adopting these biased positions are prepared to accept what Yemen is being subjected to on their territories, saying: “Would any country in the world, or countries sympathetic to the Saudi position, accept that its airports be closed by a decision of another country, and that its ships and goods be prevented from reaching its ports except with external permission?” It stressed that the answer to this question reveals the extent of the contradiction in those positions and their lack of logic and justice.

The statement stressed that positions that support the Saudi aggression and ignore the blockade imposed on Yemen represent a blatant disregard for the established and legitimate rights of the Yemeni people, and turn a blind eye to the humanitarian injustice that Yemenis have been experiencing for years, despite the widespread suffering and catastrophic effects left by the aggression and blockade.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that the Republic of Yemen does not rely on fair positions from parties that have chosen silence or bias in the face of crimes committed against the Yemeni people, noting that those who have failed the Palestinian cause and ignored the historical injustice suffered by the Palestinian people cannot be expected to stand up for the injustice suffered by Yemen or to take a fair position towards any Arab or Islamic people who are subjected to aggression and injustice.

The ministry concluded its statement by emphasizing that the continued adoption by some countries of the Saudi narrative and the disregard for the facts on the ground will not change the reality of the injustice suffered by the Yemeni people, nor will it obscure the truth of the aggression and the blockade and the grave humanitarian consequences it has caused, reiterating Yemen’s commitment to its legitimate rights and full sovereignty, and its continued defense of them by all legitimate means.
