Ansar Allah politician: Targeting Hodeidah port is a dangerous escalation… a siege will be met with a siege, and escalation with escalation.

The political bureau of Ansar Allah condemned the recent Saudi escalation targeting civilian facilities and infrastructure in Hodeidah Governorate and Kamaran Island, most notably the port of Hodeidah, stressing that these attacks represent an extension of the policy of collective punishment and siege pursued by the Saudi regime against the Yemeni people, and a new attempt to compensate for its military and political failures by targeting the foundations of life and civilian infrastructure.

The political bureau explained in a statement that targeting civilian facilities and installations, especially the port of Hodeidah, represents a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international laws and norms, and places the international community before its legal and moral responsibilities towards the repeated attacks on the Yemeni people that target their civilian assets and sources of livelihood.

The statement stressed that the Saudi regime’s resort to bombing civilian facilities reflects its failure to achieve its military and political goals, and its attempt to compensate for those failures by targeting infrastructure and the necessities of life, in an effort to increase the suffering of Yemenis and tighten the siege imposed on them.

The political bureau of Ansar Allah stressed that the recent crimes committed by the Saudi regime will not go unanswered, emphasizing that the deterrence equation established by the Yemeni people, their leadership and armed forces, has become a firm and clear equation, and that the continuation of the attacks will not change the steadfastness of the Yemeni position or its ability to defend its sovereignty and rights.

The statement added that the equation of “siege for siege, ports for ports, and escalation for escalation” has become a fixed option in confronting the aggression, stressing that the Saudi regime’s continuation of its aggressive policies will only bring it more losses, and that any escalation will be met with deterrent measures that are commensurate with the scale of the attacks and aim to protect the Yemeni people and preserve their legitimate rights.

The political bureau of Ansar Allah concluded its statement by emphasizing that continuing the aggression and targeting civilian facilities will not break the will of the Yemenis, nor will it achieve the goals of the aggressors, but will instead lead to an increase in the cost of the aggression and an expansion of the circle of losses for which they will bear full responsibility.
