President Al-Mashat: The armed forces’ actions are legitimate… and their goal is to end the Saudi blockade and aggression.
His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, reiterated that the actions of the armed forces are legitimate and justified by all religious, humanitarian, moral, and international principles and conventions.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), His Excellency the President said, “The goal of the armed forces’ operations is to end the Saudi blockade and aggression against our country for nearly 12 years.”
He expressed pride and appreciation for the ability, efficiency and discipline of the armed forces, adding, “When our Yemeni people endure nearly 12 years of the unjust and oppressive Saudi blockade, and their armed forces have these options that the Saudi enemy cannot bear, then they have made their case before God in the best possible way, and victory is near, God willing.”
President Al-Mashat pointed out that the pre-paid condemnations and wailing are worthless, because Yemen’s position is right and its demands are just, namely ending the Saudi blockade and aggression against it.
He continued, “Those who give you false hopes will not benefit you, and anything short of ending the aggression and lifting the siege is nothing but illusion and mirage.”
