The Ministry of Local Administration organized on Tuesday a special event to mark 3 years of Saudi-led war and systematic destruction of the local authority and the Yemeni islands.

During the event, the Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Hamed, urged all the people of Yemen to take serious and effective actions to defend the Yemeni dignity and confront and respond to the war crimes of the Saudi-led coalition, especially after the heinous crime committed by one of the Sudanese mercenaries against a woman in the district of Khokha in Hodeidah Governorate, western coast of Yemen.

He also said: “The people should move to face those who commit the heinous and immoral crimes against women, children and all civilians in Yemen.”

Hamed pointed out that after three years of Saudi-led war, the Yemeni people are more aware of the importance of confronting the Saudi-led coalition, for its everyone’s responsibility to do so since the Saudi-led coalition warplanes did not exclude anyone from their to-target list.

In addition, the Minister of Local Administration, Ali bin Ali al-Qaisi, affirmed that the US-backed coalition destroyed, until last September, 46 government complexes of local authorities in various governorates and districts, distributed in 18 governorates.

He also noted that most of the government complexes were completely destroyed and that losses have amounted to 36 billion and 740 million riyals.

Moreover, the Minister of Local Administration pointed out that the coalition intended to hinder the role of the local authority, forcing its disability of providing services and facilitating conditions as Yemen is amid war and blockade.

The event also dealt with the Saudi violations against Yemeni islands for they remain under an illegal occupation, which threatens peace, social security, culture, tourism and environmental heritage.

The statement issued by the event called on the international community to carry out its moral and legal duty and cease the ongoing Saudi-led war, lift the siege, hold the perpetrators accountable and bring them to justice.
