Hamas Movement: “Al-Aqsa Flood” is firm & enduring milestone in Palestinian struggle for freedom & independence
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas – Palestine described “Al-Aqsa Flood” as a firm and towering milestone in the course of the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and independence.
In a statement marking the 38th anniversary of the movement’s founding, Hamas affirmed that “Al-Aqsa Flood” will remain a steadfast landmark signaling a genuine beginning for the defeat of the occupation and its disappearance from Palestinian land.
The movement explained that the 38th anniversary comes after more than two years of brutal aggression, genocide, starvation, and destruction unprecedented in history, targeting more than two million besieged people in the Gaza Strip, along with systematic crimes against Palestinians in the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds committed by the criminal Zionist enemy.
It noted that this anniversary also coincides with Zionist plans aimed at annexing land, expanding settlements, and Judaizing Al-Aqsa Mosque, following two years during which the Palestinian people, united with the valiant resistance, have persevered—paying tribute to the souls of the founding leader martyrs and the convoys of martyrs across Gaza, the West Bank, Al-Quds, and all occupied Palestinian territories.
Hamas expressed pride in the steadfastness, bravery, and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in all arenas, foremost among them the people of dignified Gaza, who have struggled, endured, and remained steadfast in defense of the land and holy sites on behalf of the entire nation, as well as in the proud West Bank, Al-Quds, the territories occupied in 1948, and in refugee camps and the diaspora.
The statement said the Zionist occupation, over two full years of aggression against the Gaza Strip, has achieved nothing but criminal targeting of unarmed civilians and civilian life, and has failed—despite its brutal war machine and U.S. support—to achieve its aggressive objectives.
Hamas renewed its commitment to all provisions of the ceasefire agreement, while the Zionist occupation continues to violate the agreement daily and fabricate flimsy pretexts to evade its obligations. The movement called on mediators and the U.S. administration to pressure the occupation to implement the agreement’s provisions and to condemn its ongoing, systematic violations.
It urged the U.S. administration to honor its declared commitments, adhere to the ceasefire track, and pressure the occupation to respect the ceasefire, halt its violations and attacks on Palestinians, and open the crossings—especially the Rafah crossing in both directions—while intensifying the entry of aid.
The statement affirmed an unequivocal rejection of all forms of guardianship or trusteeship over the Gaza Strip or any inch of occupied land, warning against going along with attempts at displacement and re-engineering the Strip in line with the enemy’s plans.
It stressed that the Palestinian people alone decide who governs them, are capable of managing their own affairs, and possess the legitimate right to defend themselves, liberate their land, and establish their independent state with full sovereignty and Al-Quds as its capital.
The statement called on the Arab and Islamic nation—leaders, governments, peoples, and organizations—to take urgent action and exert all efforts and resources to pressure the occupation to stop its aggression, open the crossings, allow the entry of aid, and immediately implement relief, shelter, and reconstruction plans, providing the requirements of normal humanitarian life for more than two million Palestinians.
It described the crimes of the Zionist enemy over two years of genocide and starvation in Gaza, the West Bank, and occupied Al-Quds as systematic and well-documented crimes that do not lapse with time, calling on the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court to continue pursuing the occupation , its criminal leaders, prosecuting them, and preventing their impunity.
Hamas reaffirmed that it will remain steadfast on its principles, faithful to the blood and sacrifices of the people and prisoners, preserving its values and identity, and embracing and defending the aspirations of the Palestinian people across all arenas of the homeland and in refugee camps and the diaspora until liberation and return.
The statement emphasized that occupied Al-Quds and the captive Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain the core of the conflict with the Zionist entity, that the occupation has no legitimacy or sovereignty over them, that Judaization and settlement plans will fail to erase their features. Al-Quds will remain the eternal capital of Palestine, and Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain purely Islamic.
