Parliament: Zionist Entity’s Recognition of “Somaliland” Is a Flagrant Violation of Sovereignty
The House of Representatives of the Republic of Yemen has condemned the recognition by the criminal Israeli enemy entity of the so-called “Republic of Somaliland.”
In a statement issued today, the Parliament described the recognition by the Israeli entity—which occupies Palestinian land and parts of Arab territories, particularly in Lebanon and Syria—of “Somaliland” as a blatant assault and a grave violation of the sovereignty and independence of an Arab state. It further characterized the move as an escalation in interference in the internal affairs of states and a clear breach of international law and United Nations charters.
The Parliament also denounced the Arab and Islamic silence regarding the Zionist enemy’s actions and its overt interference in Somali affairs, stressing that such conduct constitutes a violation of the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and poses a serious threat to security and stability in the region and the Horn of Africa, with negative repercussions for international peace and security.
The House of Representatives called on Arab, regional, and international parliaments, as well as free people around the world, to pressure their governments to adopt firm positions condemning and rejecting this blatant interference in the affairs of states.
It reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfast and supportive position toward Arab causes and oppressed peoples worldwide, underscoring respect for state sovereignty, rejection of interference in internal affairs, and resistance to all conspiracies and schemes seeking to impose a new Sykes–Picot agenda.
The Parliament urged the international community and the United Nations to take decisive positions and to assume their legal and moral responsibilities in response to these aggressive and unlawful actions, in a manner that ensures respect for state sovereignty.
The House of Representatives also renewed its call for the implementation of the rulings of the International Court of Justice to hold Zionist war criminals—foremost among them Netanyahu—accountable for the massacres, war crimes, and acts of genocide committed against the Palestinian people, as well as for the destruction of the Gaza Strip.
