Al-Qassam Announces the Martyrdom of Its Chief of Staff Abu Ibrahim and Spokesman Abu Ubaida, Along with a Group of Fallen Commanders
The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the martyrdom of the senior commander and mujahid Mohammed Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim), Chief of Staff of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, along with a group of fighters and prominent commanders who were killed in the battlefield and in command-and-control rooms, while remaining at their posts and carrying out their duties without fatigue or hesitation.
In a recorded video statement, the new military spokesperson of the Brigades, Abu Ubaida, said:
“With pride and honor, we announce the martyrdom of the great commander and mujahid Mohammed Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim), Chief of Staff of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades—an excellent successor to an excellent predecessor, a man of exceptional intellect who led the Brigades through an extremely difficult phase, succeeding the great martyr of the Ummah, Abu Khaled al-Deif.”
He added:
“We also announce the martyrdom of the great commander Mohammed Shabana (Abu Anas), commander of the Rafah Brigade, who was killed alongside commander Yahya Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim), together with a group of their fellow commanders and fighters. We further announce the martyrdom of the great commander Hikmat al-Issa (Abu Omar), highlighting his role in leading various departments, most notably the Training Division, the Military Institutes and Colleges Authority, and the Combat Weapons Division. The Brigades also mourn Sheikh and martyr Raed Saad (Abu Muadh), commander of the Manufacturing Division and former commander of the Operations Division.”
He continued:
“As we stand before you today, we can only pause in reverence and respect for the man of this stature, who repeatedly appeared before you with his powerful voice, sincere words, and long-awaited messages—the masked figure loved by millions, whose appearances were eagerly anticipated, whom people saw as a source of inspiration, and whose red keffiyeh became an icon for all free people around the world: the great martyr commander, the spokesperson of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida.”
He further stated:
“We announce to our Ummah and our people the martyrdom of the great commander Hudhayfa Samir Abdullah al-Kahlout (Abu Ibrahim), who fell after two decades of confronting the enemy and uplifting the hearts of the faithful, meeting God in the best of states. What greater proof of sincerity with God than that He elevates a person’s remembrance among all peoples and grants him acceptance on earth? He departed after leading the Qassam media apparatus with full competence, recording—together with his brothers—an honorable performance witnessed by friend and foe alike, conveying to the world the events of the Al-Aqsa Flood in their finest form and the heroism of Gaza’s fighters.”
The military spokesperson emphasized that October 7 was a resounding eruption against oppression, repression, siege, and all forms of aggression against Al-Aqsa and the Palestinian people—violations that crossed all red lines, ignored all demands and warnings, and disregarded all treaties and agreements.
He stressed that the Palestinian people are defending themselves and will not relinquish their weapons as long as the occupation remains, and will never surrender, even if forced to fight with their bare hands—pointing to Rafah and its steadfast men, who chose martyrdom over surrender, as the clearest testimony.
