Yemen’s Scholars in a Broad Gathering: The Qur’anic Project Is the Path to Dignity and the Breaking of Hegemony
At a national and faith-driven moment where revolutionary memory intersects with the open battle of the nation against global tyranny, the General Mobilization in the Capital Secretariat launched activities marking the annual anniversary of the Martyr of the Qur’an, Sayyed Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, through a large gathering that brought together scholars, preachers, and social and educational figures. The gathering affirmed that the Qur’anic project initiated by the martyred leader was not merely a religious discourse, but a liberation path that restored Yemen’s historical role in confronting arrogance and forging an equation of dignity and sovereignty for the entire nation.
The Martyred Leader: A Man of Revival in an Age of Defeat
In a pivotal address, the Mufti of Yemen and Head of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Allama Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, affirmed that the martyred leader Sayyed Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi was among God’s righteous servants who rose to fulfill the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil at a time when the voice of truth had receded. He gave his life as the price of his Qur’anic stance, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice for the sake of God and raising the banner of disavowal of the enemies of the nation.

Allama Sharaf al-Din highlighted the rampage of the United States and the Zionist entity in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria; their efforts to disarm the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq; their attacks on Iran; and their targeting of Venezuela. He stressed that this tyranny, unrestrained by any values, finds no deterrent except free peoples who carry a living Qur’anic project—foremost among them the Yemeni people.
He explained that Yemen’s stance against this tyranny was not coincidental, but the fruit of the blessed seed planted by the martyred leader and watered with his pure blood, producing a people who neither kneel nor bargain—a people who confronted America and its aircraft carriers and forced it to seek truce after its prestige eroded under Yemeni strikes.

The Mufti of Yemen clarified that the campaigns of distortion and falsehood targeting the martyred leader and the Qur’anic movement since its inception have collapsed today before reality. Truth has prevailed over falsehood, and the reality of groups that abandoned their responsibilities toward the nation has been exposed—some even becoming tools in the hands of God’s enemies, fighting under the banners of Jews and Christians and normalizing relations with the Zionist enemy.
