Launch of the Activities Commemorating the Anniversary of the Martyr of the Qur’an in Dhamar Governorate

Today in Dhamar Governorate, activities marking the annual anniversary of the **Martyr of the Qur’an, Sayyid Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi—may God be pleased with him—**were officially launched, attended by the governor of the governorate and with broad participation from executive leaders, social figures, and a number of official institutions and offices. The event reaffirmed loyalty to the path of the Qur’anic project and the continued commitment to following in the footsteps of the martyred leader.

During the opening ceremony, Dhamar Governor Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti emphasized the importance of commemorating the Martyr of the Qur’an as a faith-based and educational milestone for drawing lessons from the life of a man who carried the concerns of the nation and restored the Holy Qur’an to its rightful place as a way of life and a principled stance in confronting tyranny and arrogance.

He noted that the Qur’anic project founded by the martyred leader represented a qualitative shift in the nation’s awareness and the compass guiding its positions, contributing to the cultural and intellectual fortification of society and to confronting attempts at deception and domination.

For their part, participants from executive offices and official institutions stressed the necessity of translating the meanings of the anniversary into practical programs and awareness activities that enhance faith-based identity, consolidate the values of justice, freedom, and independence, and uphold collective responsibility toward the causes of the nation—foremost among them confronting global forces of arrogance and their proxies in the region.

The activities featured speeches underscoring the centrality of the Holy Qur’an in building the individual and society, the pioneering role of the martyred leader in reviving Qur’anic awareness, and in entrenching a culture of jihad and principled stance in the face of aggression and conspiracies targeting the nation, as well as readiness to confront enemies in the second round of the conflict.

The events concluded with an affirmation that the annual commemoration program will continue across all districts and areas of the governorate through cultural, educational, and media activities—both popular and official—strengthening attachment to the Qur’an and the path of the Martyr of the Qur’an, and translating the values for which he sacrificed into practical reality.

The annual anniversary of the Martyr of the Qur’an marks a pivotal chapter in the history of Yemen and the nation in confronting its enemies. Through it, the martyred leader launched the Qur’anic project to counter American and Zionist hegemony and to restore the nation to its authentic faith-based identity, affirming that the Qur’an is the source of dignity and honor, the path of liberation, and the foundation for building principled positions in the face of injustice and tyranny.
