Palestinian Prisoners Media: Two thousand prisoners from Gaza being subjected to torture, maltreatment in Zionist prisons

The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office confirmed on Saturday that despite the ceasefire, about 2,000 prisoners from Gaza are still being subjected to torture and maltreatment inside prisons and camps of the Israeli enemy.

The Prisoners Media revealed in a statement reviewed by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the Israeli enemy has arrested more than 14,000 civilians from Gaza since the start of the genocide war and detains them under harsh conditions in Ofer, Negev, Sdei Tman, and Rakevet prisons, with blankets and mattresses being withdrawn for long hours, exacerbating their suffering during winter.

It pointed out that the Israeli enemy continues a policy of starvation through meager meals that do not satisfy hunger, leading to prisoners losing weight and deteriorating health conditions, especially among the sick and wounded.

It mentioned that the Zionist enemy practices religious and living violations including preventing congregational prayers, banning Qurans, restricting breaks, and prohibiting bathing and hygiene materials, causing severe skin diseases.

It stressed that these policies have led to the martyrdom of 51 prisoners from Gaza of known identity since October 7, 2023, in addition to dozens of unknown fate amid forced disappearance and the classification of hundreds of prisoners as “unlawful combatants.”

The Prisoners Media Office demanded urgent international intervention to release Gaza prisoners, stop violations immediately, ensure independent international visits, and hold the enemy accountable according to international law.
