The Red Line of the Ummah… Any Harm to Sayyed Khamenei Would Ignite a Comprehensive Confrontation with the Islamic World

In a notable political escalation, the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly issued a stern warning to the United States, stressing that any harm directed at the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, would be considered an open declaration of war against the entire Islamic world. The warning came in response to threats issued by U.S. President Donald Trump.

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the committee explained that the American threats against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution cannot be separated from a series of failures and defeats suffered by Washington at the hands of the Iranian people, whether on the political, security, or battlefield levels. It noted that these threats come in the context of attempts to compensate for failure following what it described as the “defeat in the twelve-day war,” in addition to the collapse of bets on stirring chaos through terrorist activities modeled on the methods of ISIS.

The statement affirmed that any attack on Sayyed Khamenei would not be viewed merely as targeting an individual or a leadership position, but as a direct assault on a religious and political symbol of the Islamic Ummah. It warned that such an act would open the door to far-reaching repercussions extending beyond Iran to the broader Islamic world.

In a strongly worded tone, the committee stressed that the U.S. administration must recognize the sensitivity and gravity of this issue, noting that any such adventure could provoke widespread religious and popular reactions amid what it described as accumulated anger over American policies in the region.

The committee also held Washington responsible for the current state of affairs, stating that the U.S. record filled with interventions, wars, and civilian casualties in the region makes these threats a continuation of an aggressive approach that has produced nothing but instability. It emphasized that Iran and the peoples of the region will not treat these threats lightly or with complacency.

The statement concluded by asserting that the United States is required to reconsider its calculations and abandon policies of escalation and intimidation, as the consequences of any misstep in this context would be extensive and dangerous, and would not be confined to a single party.
