Gaza Under Assault: Escalating Humanitarian Suffering
The tragedy in the Gaza Strip continues more than two years into the Israeli aggression, with the death toll surpassing 71,000 martyrs and 171,000 injured. This comes amid daily violations of the ceasefire agreement and a worsening humanitarian and health crisis that threatens civilians’ lives—particularly patients and the wounded in urgent need of evacuation.
Rising Numbers of Martyrs and Injured
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today that the toll of the aggression has reached 71,795 martyrs and 171,551 injured since the start of the assault on October 7, 2023.
Over the past 24 hours, hospitals received 26 martyrs and 68 injured, while a large number of victims remain trapped under rubble, as ambulance crews are unable to reach them.
Since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025, 486 Palestinians have been killed and 1,341 others injured due to continued violations by the occupying forces.
Targeting Civilians and Civilian Areas
Elderly man Khaled Hamad Ahmad Dahliz (63) was killed in the Al-Shakoush area northwest of Rafah, and Ayman Awad Abdulrahman Zaqout (48) was killed near Wadi Gaza, as a result of direct shelling by the occupying entity.
The Al-Bureij refugee camp in the northern part of the Strip was also targeted with heavy gunfire. Enemy forces deployed an explosive-laden robot northeast of Gaza City, further escalating tension and destruction.
The Ministry of Interior announced the killing of five officers and the injury of 15 others in a strike on the Sheikh Radwan police station, noting that most of the martyrs and wounded are children and women.
Rafah Crossing Crisis and Medical Needs
The Rafah land crossing was reopened on a trial basis after more than a year and a half of closure, allowing the passage of approximately 50 patients per day with companions under an emergency medical framework.
The Ministry of Health stated that around 6,000 wounded and patients urgently require evacuation, while daily needs call for evacuating at least 500 patients to alleviate the critical medical burden.
Catastrophe for Kidney Failure Patients
Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, Director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, confirmed that nearly 50% of dialysis patients have died over two years of aggression and siege due to shortages of equipment and essential medications.
He explained that the complex operates 34 dialysis machines serving only about 750 patients, intensifying pressure on an already devastated health system following the destruction of major hospitals during the conflicts.
Human Rights and Humanitarian Warnings
Hamas warned against any restrictions on the Rafah crossing, considering such measures a violation of the ceasefire agreement and international law.
The movement stressed the need to monitor the occupying forces’ conduct to ensure compliance with the agreement, prevent obstruction of civilian movement, and safeguard civilians’ legitimate rights.
Daily Violations
Occupying forces continued daily violations by opening fire on areas east of Gaza City and the Al-Bureij camp, in addition to heavy naval fire along the Strip’s coastline.
Last Saturday alone, more than 30 martyrs were recorded in a series of airstrikes across various areas, amid ongoing daily breaches of the ceasefire.

These tragic figures underscore the continuation of genocidal policies practiced by the occupying forces with American and European support, highlighting the grave humanitarian and health situation facing Gaza’s civilian population and the urgent need for international intervention to ensure respect for international laws and conventions and the protection of civilians.
