UN Special Rapporteur: “Israeli” death penalty bill is blatant violation of right to life

The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights and counter-terrorism, Professor Ben Saul, announced on Wednesday his joining of UN experts in demanding that “Israel” withdraw a bill imposing a mandatory death penalty on Palestinians in certain cases of what the Zionist entity calls “terrorism.”

Saul stated, in a post on the “X” platform monitored by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that these cases are often tried before military courts that lack fair trial standards, and also involve systematic discrimination against Palestinians. This constitutes a grave violation of the fundamental human right to life and contravenes obligations under international human rights law.
