Al-Barsh: Imminent Health Catastrophe in Gaza Due to Shortages of Medicines and Medical Supplies

Dr. Munir al-Barsh, Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, warned of a sharp and unprecedented collapse in the health sector since the start of the second phase of the agreement, with a dangerous decline in the flow of medical supplies. This has pushed the health system into a struggle for survival, with the health sector receiving no more than 5% of the total aid. This situation portends an imminent humanitarian catastrophe that threatens the lives of patients and the wounded.

In a post on the X platform, monitored on Tuesday, al-Barsh explained that the shortage has reached 46% in medicines, 66% in medical consumables, and 84% in laboratory and blood bank supplies. This effectively paralyzes diagnostic and treatment tools and life-saving mechanisms, turning them into a “silent killing.”
