Human Rights Body: Authority agencies deny 80,000 families in Gaza Social Affairs allowances for Years
The spokesperson for the High Commission for Advocating the Rights of Social Affairs Beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip, Sobhi Al-Maghrabi, accused the authority’s agencies today, Wednesday, of continuing to withhold financial allowances from beneficiaries in the Gaza Strip for years.
Al-Maghrabi, in a press statement quoted by Quds Press, called for the immediate release of the accumulated payments, especially with the approach of Ramadan, noting that more than 15 financial installments had been withheld from Gaza’s beneficiaries over the four years preceding the last war.
He added that the authority’s agencies were seizing these allowances instead of distributing them to poor families in the Strip.
He pointed out that the number of families registered under the Social Affairs program in Gaza reaches about 80,000 families, compared to 36,000 in the occupied West Bank.
