Text of the Leader of the Revolution’s speech in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH – 2026 CE

I seek refuge in God from Satan, the accursed.

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds. I bear witness that there is no god but God, the King, the Truth, the Manifest. And I bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and messenger, the Seal of the Prophets.

O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and bestow Your grace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent blessings and bestowed Your grace upon Abraham and the family of Abraham. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. And, O Allah, be pleased with his chosen and virtuous companions, and with all Your righteous and striving servants.

Dear brothers and sisters:

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. As in previous years, we address this topic within the framework of preparing ourselves psychologically and mentally for the blessed month of Ramadan. As we have emphasized in past years, this is important for all of us. We have benefited from the example of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who emphasized and was keen on this. In following his example and guidance, we truly see the great importance of preparing ourselves mentally and psychologically before the blessed month of Ramadan, especially during the last days of Sha’ban.

By the grace and favor of God—to Him be all praise and gratitude—our dear people (the people of Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom) are among the most devoted to the blessed month of Ramadan, distinguished in their observance and care for it, fulfilling God’s commandment to fast during it, and attending to its various aspects: reviving mosques, reciting the Holy Quran, performing good deeds, offering charitable offerings, and so on. Our dear people are a distinguished people; this is a blessing from God, the Exalted, and it is also a hallmark of their faith-based identity, their religious affiliation, and their authentic faith, and it is a manifestation of the noble Prophetic tradition: “Faith is Yemeni, and wisdom is Yemeni.”

When we speak of preparing for the blessed month of Ramadan, it is of great importance; therefore, the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, was keen on this. This contains guidance and an important lesson for us all. A person truly feels the difference when they prepare themselves beforehand. Moreover, this is the norm for important matters in a person’s life, generally in all aspects, even worldly affairs. Things of great importance and high value are prepared for before they occur, especially if they have a specific time. This preparation involves mental and emotional focus, and making the necessary arrangements. This is a well-known fact in people’s lives.

Therefore, one of the indicators that the blessed month of Ramadan holds importance for a person, and that they feel its immense virtue, its great significance and status, and the importance of this opportunity and divine gift, is their prior attention to it—their preparation.

The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to draw attention to this through supplication and reminders, even in his sermons on the last Friday of Sha’ban. He would usually draw attention to the blessed month of Ramadan, and this is a very important matter.

Preparing for Ramadan helps a person enter the month with specific priorities—prior priorities that benefit them and allow them to seize this great opportunity in the holy month. In contrast, many people enter Ramadan in one of two ways:

– Either with a routine, ordinary attitude, without any real focus, and thus do not benefit as they should.

– Or, God forbid, they take a negative approach, engaging in harmful activities and misusing their time, especially the nights of Ramadan, wasting their time and accumulating sins and transgressions.

Therefore, one should pay attention and prepare in advance, both psychologically and mentally, to help focus on the right interests and prioritize tasks, so as not to waste time.

The month of Ramadan is viewed with reverence throughout the Islamic world. Everyone recognizes it as a special month, the best of months in the sight of God Almighty. It is a month distinguished by its blessings and its immense favor, bestowed by God upon His servants, especially those who turn to Him to receive this grace and goodness. It is also distinguished by the great obligation of fasting and by being the month in which the Holy Quran was revealed. It is a month unique in its fasting, its blessings, the impact of the Quran, supplication, and acts of worship performed within it, and in the way it can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals. Therefore, in people’s actions, and then in the resulting realities of life, this is a matter of utmost importance. We must view the blessed month of Ramadan in this light: as a month that can make a difference in the lives of all Muslims, if they approach it with awareness and seek the good it offers and the immense blessings and grace that God has bestowed upon it. This is because its initial impact is directed towards the human soul, which is the source of changes in people’s lives, either positive or negative. In Ramadan, God has provided people with the means to achieve positive changes that have a profound impact on their souls and actions, and consequently on their lives in this world and their great, important, eternal, and everlasting future in the Hereafter. This is a very important matter.

Therefore, given the current state of the Muslim community, the reality of Muslims in general, a state of great suffering and crisis, a reality in which…
