WHO: 16,000 Children under three vaccinated in Gaza

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said nearly 16,000 children under three were vaccinated in Gaza last month during the second round of a catch-up immunization campaign led by UNICEF, UNRWA, and partners in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

In a post on X, he said the campaign protects children from serious diseases amid worsening conditions due to the conflict. Over 80% of vaccinated children were completing their doses, while 20% had not finished their routine schedule.

More than 14,000 children were reached in the first round in November 2025, with a final round planned for April. He also called for protecting civilians and ensuring unhindered medical aid access to Gaza.
