A New Israeli Aggression Against Lebanon: Residential Buildings Targeted in the Bekaa Valley Leave Dozens Dead and Wounded

In a new escalation adding to the long list of crimes committed by the Israeli enemy against civilians in the region, Lebanon witnessed a bloody night following airstrikes targeting populated residential buildings in the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country. The initial toll of dozens killed and wounded is expected to rise, amid ongoing rescue and relief operations under difficult conditions.

Lebanese media reported that the number of victims of the Israeli airstrikes has exceeded 40 dead and wounded, a preliminary count, as civil defense and rescue teams continue to search under the rubble and recover victims from the targeted sites.

In detail, media sources reported that the Israeli airstrikes targeted populated residential buildings in the Bekaa Valley, initially resulting in the deaths of six civilians and injuries to 20 others. These numbers later increased as rescue operations continued and the extent of the destruction caused by the bombing became clear.

It was reported that ambulance and civil defense crews are facing significant difficulties in recovering the dead and wounded from under the rubble due to the extensive damage inflicted on the targeted buildings, which suggests the death toll is likely to rise in the coming hours.

In a later update, sources confirmed that the new, but still preliminary, toll from the Israeli aggression has reached 10 martyrs and 30 wounded, with search, firefighting, and rescue operations continuing at the bombed sites.

According to information from the field, Israeli warplanes targeted several populated buildings in various areas of the Bekaa Valley, including a building on the outskirts of the towns of Riyaq and Tamnin al-Tahta, in addition to bombing the al-Shaara area in the Nabi Sheet mountains. This resulted in widespread destruction in residential areas and sparked panic among the residents.

This escalation comes just minutes after the Israeli enemy targeted the Ain al-Hilweh camp, which houses thousands of Palestinian refugees. This attack reflects the nature of the aggression, which targets civilians and densely populated residential areas. The bombing resulted in the martyrdom of one Palestinian and the injury of another inside the camp.

Multiple Lebanese sources estimate that the death toll is likely to rise as rescue and debris removal operations continue, especially given the extensive damage to the targeted buildings. This reflects the scale and severity of the attack on civilians in residential areas.

This aggression comes within the context of repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon, targeting residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure in an attempt to pressure the home front and impose a new reality by force. However, such crimes only fuel public anger and underscore the true nature of the Israeli project, which is based on targeting civilians and expanding the scope of its aggression in the region.
