In his sixth Ramadan lecture, the Leader reveals God’s laws for overthrowing tyrants and creating salvation from the heart of oppression.

As part of his series of Quranic lessons during the blessed month, the Leader, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, continued in his sixth Ramadan lecture to highlight the story of the Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) as a school of faith and a strategic framework for understanding God’s laws in history and the struggle between the oppressed and the tyrants.

The lecture did not merely recount the Quranic story, but offered a profound analysis revealing how divine providence intervenes to protect the project of guidance, and how the policies of tyranny and arrogance become the very causes of their downfall—a lesson that transcends time to address the reality of the nation today.

Early Divine Care for the Projects of Guidance
The Leader explained that it is an established principle in the lives of the prophets that God Almighty cares for them from the earliest stages, because the tasks they undertake are great and sacred, and they occur under extremely difficult circumstances.

He pointed out that the story of Moses (peace be upon him) provides a clear example of this divine care, as the glad tidings came to his mother at an early stage that God would return him to her and make him one of the messengers, a message of reassurance and steadfastness in a highly perilous situation.

He explained that this divine principle also applies to the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), emphasizing the need to correct some misconceptions that have crept in through inaccurate historical accounts that portray the moment of revelation in a way that is unworthy of the grandeur of the divine message and God’s wisdom in preparing His messengers.

The Sea Scene: When Danger Becomes the Beginning of Victory

The Leader paused at the pivotal moment in the story of Moses (peace be upon him) when God inspired his mother to cast him into the river, despite the immense human hardship this would cause her.

He clarified that this situation embodies the pinnacle of reliance on God and trust in His promise, as that moment, which outwardly appeared to be a great danger, transformed into the beginning of a new phase of direct divine care.

The ark reached where no one expected: the very palace of Pharaoh, the enemy who had sought with all his might to eliminate the child before he was even born.

Herein lies the profound truth of the Quran: {And Allah is predominant over His affair}.

How does God bring about the downfall of tyrants from within their own palaces? The lecture highlighted a crucial dimension in understanding the course of history: that God may make the very system of tyranny the cause of its own demise.

Pharaoh’s people, who had mobilized their forces to kill the children of the Israelites, found the child they feared and slaughtered, so that he might be raised among them and under their care.

The Leader pointed out that this scene embodies one of the greatest examples of divine providence, where the tyrants’ excessive caution becomes a factor of heedlessness, blinding them to the truth.

And in this lies an important lesson: that no matter how much power and influence tyrants possess, they cannot escape God’s laws of history.

Tyranny is the inevitable cause of the fall of empires.

The Leader emphasized that the Quran provides a clear principle for understanding the fate of oppressive powers, citing the verse:

{Indeed, Pharaoh, Haman, and their soldiers were wrongdoers.}

He explained that the fall of oppressive entities is not random, but rather a natural consequence of the accumulation of major sins, including:

Injustice.

Corruption on Earth.

Arrogance.

Aggression against peoples.

The use of force for tyranny.

He pointed out that history is replete with empires and great powers that people believed would last forever, but they fell when they reached a certain level of injustice and corruption. This is a divine law that has been in effect throughout history.

The parallels between these historical patterns and the current reality of the Muslim world.

The Leader drew a connection between Pharaoh’s policies toward the Children of Israel and the policies of genocide and subjugation practiced by the Zionist occupation entity against the Palestinian people.

He explained that tyrants typically adopt systematic policies to keep their people in a state of perpetual weakness, anticipating any possibility of their future rise and working to thwart it early on.

However, divine providence is capable of overturning these equations and creating the conditions that ultimately lead to the downfall of these oppressive powers.

The Great Role of Women in the Path of Divine Messages

One of the most prominent points emphasized in the lecture was the significant role of women in the path of divine messages.

The leader pointed out that:

The first role was played by Moses’ mother, who carried out the divine mission with trust and reliance on God.

Then came the second role of Pharaoh’s wife, who intervened to protect the child and prevent his killing.

He explained that these examples reflect the high status Islam grants women in positions of great religious and humanitarian responsibility.

He also clarified that Pharaoh’s wife’s intervention was part of divine providence, which instilled love in hearts, thus becoming the reason for saving Moses, peace be upon him.

Divine Providence: Between Apparent Causes and Influence on Hearts

Among the profound meanings explored in the lecture was that divine providence does not always manifest itself directly through miracles. Rather, it is often achieved through natural causes and by the people themselves.

The Leader explained that God Almighty is capable of influencing:

Souls.

Emotions.

Decisions.

The Course of Events.

For example, God instilled love in the hearts of those who saw Moses, and their decisions changed from killing to caring and protecting.

This is one of the greatest forms of divine providence in the course of history.

The Message of the Lecture: Tyrants Are Doomed, No Matter How Powerful They Are

The Leader concluded that the story of Moses, peace be upon him, is not merely a historical event, but a recurring message affirming that tyranny, no matter how powerful and influential, carries within itself the seeds of its own downfall.

For God Almighty does not leave injustice unpunished, nor does He leave the oppressed without support. Instead, He prepares from among them those who will be the cause of the end of tyranny.

It is a divine tradition that is repeated throughout history, and it constitutes a source of hope and steadfastness for the nation in the face of major challenges.
