Iran Shoots Down Another F-15, Damages 10 Oil Tankers and a US Destroyer
The Tasnim news agency quoted an Iranian military source confirming that the Islamic Republic’s air defense system shot down a US F-15 fighter jet.
The agency explained that the American aircraft was downed in the Karaj region, 20 kilometers west of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
Meanwhile, the political deputy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Akbar Zadeh, announced that more than 10 oil tankers were damaged by missiles or drones in the Strait of Hormuz, as a result of ignoring Iranian warnings after the declaration of a “no-fly zone” in the strait, which halted the movement of tankers and ships.
The Iranian navy warned of “wartime conditions” and the possibility of attacks on ships, asserting that the strait is under the complete control of Iranian forces.
Iran blamed the “follies of Trump and Netanyahu” for destabilizing the region, emphasizing its continued monitoring of the situation to ensure control and protect its maritime interests.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also announced in a statement that it had struck a US destroyer with Qader-380 missiles.
In its 19th statement regarding Operation “True Promise 4,” the IRGC said: “The IRGC Navy carried out a missile operation with a powerful strike against a strategic US target more than 600 kilometers deep in the Indian Ocean.”
The statement added: “As part of this significant operation, a US destroyer was struck by Qader-380 and Talayeh missiles belonging to the IRGC Navy while refueling from a US supply ship 650 kilometers off the Iranian coast in the Indian Ocean.”
According to intelligence reports, “the skies over the ocean were darkened by a large fire that broke out on board both ships.”
