Gaza Under Ongoing Genocide and a Suffocating Siege: The Death Toll Rises and Ceasefire Violations Expose the Falsity of Claims
Despite repeated talk of a ceasefire, the Israeli occupation army continues its crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip through direct killings, bombings, the ongoing siege, and the prevention of humanitarian aid. As the number of martyrs and wounded rises daily, the reality of what is happening in the Strip is revealed: a continuous war of genocide targeting the people, the land, and the infrastructure of Gaza, amidst clear international inaction and Western silence that exacerbates the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe.
New High in Death Toll from the Aggression
In the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of martyrs from the Israeli aggression has risen to 72,117, in addition to 171,801 wounded since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.
The Ministry explained that hospitals received one martyr and three wounded in the past 24 hours as a result of the continued Israeli attacks. It noted that the number of martyrs since the ceasefire agreement came into effect has reached 633, while the number of wounded has reached 1,703, in addition to 753 martyrs who were recovered from under the rubble.
The Ministry confirmed that a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them due to the massive destruction and continued targeting.
Targeting of Civilians Continues in Southern Gaza
On the ground, the Israeli army continued its violations of the ceasefire agreement by firing on and targeting civilians in various areas of the Gaza Strip.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian woman was killed and another wounded by Israeli fire in the Rafah area. Earlier that morning, two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis.
This brings the death toll in the Gaza Strip since this morning to three, with several others wounded. The ongoing gunfire, artillery shelling, and airstrikes across various parts of Gaza confirm that the aggression has not effectively ceased, despite talk of a ceasefire.
The siege and the prevention of aid are deepening the humanitarian catastrophe.
In parallel with the military escalation, the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip continues, particularly with the ongoing prevention of humanitarian aid from entering.
UNRWA announced that Israeli authorities have been preventing its aid from entering the Gaza Strip since March 2, 2025. The agency noted that the closure of crossings and their partial reopening makes access for humanitarian teams limited and unreliable.
UNRWA confirmed that food, medicine, and shelter materials remain stockpiled in warehouses outside Gaza, awaiting permission to enter, while hundreds of thousands of Palestinians suffer from a severe shortage of basic necessities.
UNRWA stressed that the continuation of this ban exacerbates the suffering of the population, especially given the widespread destruction of infrastructure and essential service networks.
Ongoing Genocide with Western Support
Since the start of the aggression in October 2023, the Israeli occupation army, with American and European support, has committed widespread crimes in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 243,000 Palestinian casualties, including martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced.
The aggression also caused widespread destruction affecting most areas of the Strip, making Gaza face one of the worst humanitarian disasters of modern times.
Field and humanitarian data confirm that what is happening in Gaza is not merely a series of isolated military operations, but rather a systematic policy aimed at keeping the Strip under pressure and siege through continued killing, the prevention of aid, and the disruption of basic necessities of life.
