Hezbollah border deployment challenges IOF narrative: Israeli media
Israeli military intelligence officials have confirmed that Hezbollah has successfully redeployed units of its Radwan Force south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon, Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported.
According to intelligence sources, the presence of these units poses a significant challenge to Israeli forces, particularly if a decision is made to carry out a large-scale ground invasion in southern Lebanon.
Haaretz noted that these findings contradict the narrative the Israeli political and security leadership sought to promote after the 2024 Israeli war on Lebanon. At the time, “Israel” claimed that Hezbollah forces south of the Litani had been heavily hit during ground operations, had withdrawn northward, and were no longer capable of launching attacks on northern “Israel”.
The report added that Hezbollah had transferred a substantial portion of its elite unit to northern and central Lebanon before the attempted Israeli ground operation began in the south at the end of September 2024. These units are said to be structured similarly to infantry battalions in the Israeli army, each consisting of hundreds of fighters and combat support personnel.
Israeli media stunned by Hezbollah’s formidable steadfastness
Israeli military analyst Ron Ben-Yishai wrote in Yedioth Ahronoth that recent media coverage reflects growing disappointment that Hezbollah remains strong and operational following “Israel’s” 2024 war on Lebanon.
Ben-Yishai noted that coverage also reveals “a lack of understanding of the objectives of the current war and a distrust in “Israel” and the Israeli army’s ability to achieve them, both in Iran and in Lebanon.” He cited statements from northern settlers, broadcasters, and experts, who reportedly say that official reports are “nothing but empty slogans” while the enemy “remains steadfast and cannot be beaten,” rendering “this entire war and the suffering we endure… in vain.”
He added, “They do not provide us with realistic reports on the state of the war but bombard us with clichés that create unrealistic expectations.” Criticizing the widespread distrust among the Israeli public, Ben-Yishai said, “Politicians exploit us for their survival purposes, so is it surprising that we have lost trust?”
These comments come amid astonishment in Israeli media over “Hezbollah’s performance in the ongoing war,” which appears to contradict earlier claims that the group’s capabilities had been significantly weakened.
Hezbollah continues to confront ‘Israel’
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon – Hezbollah has intensified operations against “Israel”, following thousands of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement, launching rocket, missile, and drone strikes from South Lebanon against Israeli military settlements, bases, assets, and installations, as well as troop groupings.
Carrying out daily operations since March 2, Hezbollah said they come in defense of the Lebanese homeland and people against “Israel”.
Moreover, in response to the displacement of Lebanese civilians from southern Lebanon, the Bekaa region, and Beirut’s Southern Suburb, Hezbollah issued evacuation warnings to northern settlements, instructing residents to retreat five kilometers from the Palestinian-Lebanese border. The northern settlements of Kiryat Shmona and Nahariya were declared war zones and came under direct Resistance fire.
