The Leader on the Anniversary of Steadfastness: Yemen Defeated the Hegemonic Project Despite the Crimes of Aggression
The Leader of the Revolution, Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, affirmed that the National Day of Steadfastness represents a pivotal moment in the history of the Yemeni people, who, of their own free will, chose the path of dignity and honor in the face of the American-Saudi aggression since March 26, 2015, refusing to submit to projects of hegemony and surrender.
In his speech commemorating the eleventh anniversary of steadfastness, he explained that divine guidance was the decisive factor in the Yemeni people’s resilience and adherence to the righteous cause. He emphasized that the choice of steadfastness was not merely a temporary stance, but a strategic choice stemming from faith and an awareness of the magnitude of the challenges.
The Choice of Steadfastness: The Path of Dignity
The Leader pointed out that from the very first moment of the aggression, the Yemeni people were presented with only two options: either surrender, with its catastrophic consequences that would infringe upon freedom, dignity, and sovereignty, or steadfastness, which embodies the values of faith and humanity.
He affirmed that the Yemeni people chose the right path, despite the immense sacrifices, to create a unique model of steadfastness and defiance.
Comprehensive Sacrifices and Integrated Resilience
He pointed out that this resilience was not confined to the battlefronts, but was a comprehensive national project in which everyone participated, from the martyrs, the wounded, and those stationed on the front lines, to various segments of society in the cultural, educational, economic, and media fields.
He also praised the significant role of Yemeni women, who presented a magnificent example of sacrifice and dedication, emphasizing that this resilience has become a comprehensive school rich with lessons and wisdom for generations to come.
A War of Wills: Between Resilience and Surrender
He explained that the current battle is not merely a military confrontation, but a struggle between two projects: the project of resilience and independence, and the project of surrender and subservience.
He indicated that the enemies of the nation, foremost among them America and the Zionist entity, seek to subjugate the people and entrench a culture of defeat, warning of the danger of this approach, which leads to loss in this world and the hereafter.
A shocking humanitarian catastrophe
The leader revealed the scale of the crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen, emphasizing that the humanitarian tragedy has reached unprecedented levels, including:
Nearly 60,000 Yemenis killed or wounded
More than 1.4 million civilians have died as a result of the blockade, disease, and malnutrition
More than 670 health facilities and ambulances have been destroyed
Nearly 2,900 educational facilities have been destroyed
More than 5,600 electrical installations and 2,200 telecommunications facilities have been destroyed
14 ports and 9 airports have been targeted
More than 15,000 food processing facilities and 19,000 agricultural facilities have been destroyed
More than 12,000 water facilities have been destroyed
More than 1,840 mosques and 90 cemeteries have been targeted
Thousands of roads, bridges, and government, media, and tourism facilities have been destroyed
He affirmed that these figures reflect the scale of the aggression, which has targeted all aspects of life in Yemen in an attempt to subjugate the people and break their will.
Steadfastness Thwarts the Aggression’s Goals
The leader emphasized that these crimes have failed to achieve the aggression’s objectives. On the contrary, they have only strengthened the Yemeni people’s resolve and determination. He affirmed that the hegemonic project has failed in the face of this unwavering will to resist, and that Yemen will continue its struggle until it achieves complete freedom and independence.
He stressed that the anniversary of steadfastness is not merely an occasion, but a milestone for renewing the pledge to continue the path and to solidify the values of resilience in the public consciousness, as these are the true guarantee for confronting challenges and achieving victory in the battle for our destiny.
