A new message of deterrence: The Revolutionary Guard announces strikes against American targets on land and sea.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in a statement that the US military targeted an Iranian oil tanker late last night in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz with an aerial missile, causing damage to its engine room.

The statement explained that this targeting constituted a direct attack and a violation of the rules of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, noting that the Iranian response came by targeting a ship belonging to the “American Zionist enemy” named “Panaya” with missiles launched by the naval force of the Revolutionary Guard.

The statement added that the United States subsequently carried out a “new act of aggression” targeting a Revolutionary Guard communications tower in southern Qeshm Island using aerial projectiles, which prompted an additional response from Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard confirmed that its Aerospace Force launched missile and drone attacks targeting an American airbase and helicopters stationed in one of the countries of the region, in addition to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet.

The statement stressed that Iran had previously warned that any attack against it would be met with a different and harsher response, considering the operations carried out as a practical translation of this warning and a deterrent message to the United States.

The Revolutionary Guard concluded its statement by emphasizing that any threat to the security of the Strait of Hormuz would come at a high cost to the US military, reiterating its warning against any steps that could threaten the security of strategic waterways in the region.
