From the battlefield to politics: Iran consolidates the deterrence equation.

In the context of rapid developments reflecting profound shifts in the regional balance of power, Iranian positions confirm that the current stage is based on a clear equation, which states that any political or negotiating path cannot be separated from the reality of power imposed on the ground, in light of the continued failure of pressure and sanctions bets to break Tehran’s constants or influence its positions.

These developments coincide with continued talk of understandings and negotiations between Iran and the United States, amid Iranian assurances that any potential settlement will not be imposed through dictates or pressure, but will be built on the basis of balance and the existing reality of power.

Retaliation in kind… steadfastness in position
The head of Iran’s judiciary, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei, affirmed that his country would retaliate in kind if the other party broke its promises in any negotiation process, stressing that national rights are non-negotiable under any circumstances.

He explained that Iranian diplomacy operates within a vision based on constant vigilance, with a clear link between the political track and field readiness, ensuring that no understandings are exploited or circumvented.

Resistance: A presence that imposes deterrence
In the same context, the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ismail Qaani, affirmed that the resistance front continues to play a pivotal role in confronting the United States and the Zionist entity, noting that its influence extends across several arenas in the region.

He pointed out that what appears in terms of resistance capabilities in Lebanon, Palestine and Yemen is only part of the picture, indicating the continued effectiveness of this axis in reshaping regional deterrence balances and imposing new equations on the ground.

Negotiations under a veil of caution
On the political front, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced preparations for a negotiating meeting in Switzerland, as a prelude to signing a preliminary memorandum of understanding with the American side, within a negotiating process that is still in its preliminary stages.

He explained that Tehran is operating in an environment of mistrust due to past experiences of violating agreements, stressing that any understandings will not be built on political promises, but on practical and implementable guarantees.

He also pointed out that regional issues, especially Lebanon, fall within the general context of the ongoing understandings, reflecting the interconnectedness of the fronts in any potential settlement.

decisive deterrent messages
For his part, Iranian Army Commander Amir Hatami warned that any mistake by the other side would be met with a firm and severe response, stressing the continued strengthening of Iranian defense capabilities and raising the level of combat readiness.

He stressed that Iran is now in a stronger position on the regional and international stage, as a result of the development of the deterrence system and the accumulation of military experience over the past years.

A new equation in the region
Iranian positions confirm that the current stage is based on a clear principle that political understandings are inseparable from the balance of power on the ground, and that any future settlement will remain conditional on the reality of power and not the other way around.

Iran is also working to strengthen its position as an influential force in shaping regional balances, by combining diplomatic tools and military readiness, and linking regional issues within a single negotiating framework that reflects the ongoing transformations in the region.
