From cluster bombs to targeting popular markets… June 18 reveals a bloody face of the aggression against Yemen

June 18th holds in Yemeni memory a long series of crimes and violations committed by the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression and its mercenaries against civilians and the foundations of life in various Yemeni governorates.

The documented facts of this day throughout the years of aggression reveal a recurring pattern of targeting popular markets, homes, farms, residential neighborhoods and civilian facilities, in addition to the use of internationally prohibited weapons, which led to the fall of dozens of martyrs and wounded and caused widespread damage to infrastructure and public and private property.

2015 AD.. Cluster bombs hit Al-Mazraq and residential homes were bombed
On June 18, 2015, the aggression aircraft continued its military escalation, targeting civilian areas in a number of Yemeni governorates.

In Hajjah Governorate, the Al-Mazraq area was subjected to airstrikes using internationally banned cluster bombs, in flagrant violation of international laws and conventions that prohibit the use of this type of weapon due to its long-term humanitarian consequences. The airstrikes also targeted the Al-Khadir and Al-Madahsha areas with six consecutive raids, in addition to three other raids on the Midi district.

In Saada Governorate, enemy aircraft targeted the home of a citizen in the Bani Mu’in area of ​​the Razih border district, as part of a series of attacks that have targeted villages and residential areas along the border strip.

2016 AD.. Targeting farms and sources of livelihood
In 2016, the raids turned towards targeting citizens’ livelihoods and agricultural properties.

In Al-Jawf Governorate, the aggression aircraft launched an attack on Bin Aida’s farm in the Al-Zarqa area of ​​Al-Maslub District, causing significant damage to the farm and its components, in a scene that reflects the extent of the targeting of the agricultural sector during the years of war, and the resulting economic and humanitarian effects on Yemeni families.

2017 AD.. The Al-Mashnaq Market Massacre.. One of the most heinous crimes against civilians
June 18, 2017 is considered one of the bloodiest days in the record of aggression, as the aggression’s air force committed a horrific massacre by targeting the popular Al-Mashnaq market in the Shada border district in Saada Governorate.

The crime resulted in the martyrdom of 24 citizens and the injury of another, in one of the crimes that targeted a civilian gathering crowded with shoppers and residents, which caused widespread shock and brought back to the forefront the extent of the risks faced by civilians in markets and public facilities.

On the same day, the air force launched two raids on the Al-Souh area in the Kataf district, and also targeted Sana’a Governorate with two raids on the Al-Sawad area in the Sanhan and Bani Bahloul districts, which led to significant damage to citizens’ homes and properties.

In Marib Governorate, the areas of Al-Rabia, Dhawar and Jabal Hilan in Sarwah District were subjected to six air raids that caused widespread damage to private property, while aircraft launched a raid on Al-Ta’iziyah District in Taiz Governorate.

Hajjah Governorate also witnessed an unprecedented escalation represented by more than 31 raids targeting the Haradh and Midi districts, in addition to three raids on the Al-Sawadiyah district in Al-Bayda Governorate.

2018 AD.. Targeting of homes and Hodeidah airport
In 2018, attacks on civilians and civilian facilities continued in several governorates.

In Taiz Governorate, a child was seriously injured as a result of a shell fired by the mercenaries of the aggression at citizens’ homes in the Al-Dhaba area of ​​Al-Salw district.

In Marib, the aggression aircraft targeted the house of citizen Saleh bin Saleh Al-Zaidi in Sarwah district, which led to its complete destruction, while the Malaha area in Al-Maslub district in Al-Jawf was subjected to two air raids.

As for Hodeidah Governorate, it was the target of one of the most violent waves of bombing, as the air force launched more than 12 raids on Hodeidah International Airport and various areas in Al-Durayhimi District, and also targeted Al-Jubana area in Al-Hali District and Jabal Al-Shabaka in Al-Salif District.

In Saada, the Maran area in the Haydan district was subjected to an air raid, coinciding with Saudi missile and artillery shelling that targeted residential areas in the border district of Shada.

2019 AD.. Hodeidah under fire from shells and missiles
In 2019, attacks on Hodeidah Governorate escalated significantly.

The mercenaries targeted the Al-Halqa market, Al-Dhubiani neighborhood, and the July 7 residential area with more than 15 artillery shells, which led to a fire br
