June 29th… a memory burdened with massacres and a renewed witness to the crimes of the American-Saudi-Emirati aggression.

June 29th evokes one of the most prominent days in the Yemeni memory burdened by years of aggression, as the sequence of crimes committed on this date, throughout the years of war, reveals a systematic pattern of targeting civilians, civilian objects, and infrastructure, without distinction between a house and a market, a child and a woman, or a farm and a service site.

From massacres that wiped out entire families, to the bombing of villages, markets, roads and facilities, to the continuation of attacks through artillery shelling, targeting of residential neighborhoods and the spreading of mines and remnants of aggression, a bloody page is renewed every year that documents the extent of the violations to which Yemenis have been subjected, and confirms that what happened was not just passing mistakes, but a policy of war characterized by the direct targeting of Yemeni society and the foundations of its life.

The massacres of 2015: families wiped out and homes reduced to rubble.
June 29, 2015 marked one of the bloodiest episodes in the early stages of the aggression, as the aggressor’s air force committed horrific massacres against civilians in more than one governorate.

In Marib Governorate, several airstrikes targeted the home of citizen Saleh bin Saleh Al-Salehi in Sarwah District, resulting in the martyrdom of twelve citizens from one family, including three children and three women, in addition to injuring two others, with the house being completely destroyed, in one of the crimes that embodied the extent of the direct targeting of Yemeni families.

The attacks extended to Al Mahwit Governorate, where the villages of Al Sailah, Al Kanab and Al Manzar in the Al Madhoub area of ​​Al Tawilah District were subjected to a series of raids that resulted in the martyrdom of a woman and a child, and the injury of the father of the family and three of his children, as well as the destruction of a number of residential houses.

The crimes of aggression did not stop there, as the air force targeted the villages of Dhu’ and Al-Mustah in the Al-Ahjar district of Shibam Kawkaban, which led to the martyrdom of a woman and the injury of three others, including two children, and the destruction of two houses and citizens’ farms, in addition to causing serious damage to a historical archaeological building dating back to the Sulayhid state, which was used to shelter travelers, in a clear indication that the aggression targeted both people and cultural heritage.

2016: Escalation of violations and targeting of civilians in Taiz and Sana’a
In 2016, the mercenaries of the aggression continued their violations against civilians, as they executed citizen Abbas Ba’alawi in the city of Taiz, and burned the house of a citizen in the Al-Jahmaliyah area, in conjunction with targeting the Al-Bakhitiyah, Al-Ghawi and Al-Qashubah areas in the Al-Wazi’iyah district with medium weapons, which caused widespread damage to property.

In Sana’a Governorate, the aggression aircraft targeted the Masoura area in the Nehm district, continuing the policy of bombing that affected residential and agricultural areas.

2017.. Cluster bombs and border shelling claim civilian lives
On June 29, 2017, a citizen was killed in an airstrike that targeted the Al-Kadha area in Al-Ma’afer district in Taiz governorate, while the Al-Kamb area in Maqbana district was subjected to six consecutive airstrikes.

In Saada province, a citizen was killed by Saudi border guards in the Al-Raqou market in Munabbih district, in a continuation of attacks on civilians in border areas.

The Nehm district in Sana’a governorate was also subjected to two raids targeting the Bani Bariq area, leaving widespread damage to farms and property, while aircraft launched four raids with cluster bombs on Jabal al-Ahmar in the Sarwah district of Marib governorate, in addition to seven other raids targeting Wadi al-Rabia, the al-Makhdara area and Jabal Marthad, while the bombing also affected al-Jawf, Hajjah, Najran and Jizan.

2018.. Targeting water sources, roads and residential areas
In 2018, the aggression targeted a water drilling rig in the Farwa area of ​​the Sahar district in Saada Governorate, resulting in the injury of a citizen. The Al-Mahather area was also subjected to three raids, one of which was near the market.

The attacks included the public road in the Maran area of ​​Haydan district, the Al-Qad and Al-Azhar areas of Razih district, and Al-Hasamah in Al-Dhaher district, coinciding with Saudi missile and artillery shelling that targeted residential areas in Baqim district.
