Nine released Gaza prisoners arrive at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Information Office announced on Sunday that nine Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, through the International Committee of the Red Cross after being released by the Israeli authorities.
In a statement, the office listed the names and details of the released detainees, whose ages range from 25 to 68 years.
The office said that with the arrival of this group, the total number of released detainees received at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital since the completion of all phases of the Al-Ahrar Flood prisoner exchange deal through the end of June has risen to 450, according to the hospital’s officially documented records.
It noted that this figure includes only those released detainees who were admitted to the hospital and officially registered following their release. No accurate statistics are currently available for detainees who were received directly by their families after release without first passing through the hospital.
The office added that Palestinian detainees released from Israeli occupation’s prisons generally suffer from serious health conditions as a result of the severe torture and mistreatment they were subjected to during their detention.
