Gaza under bombardment and siege: continuous bloodshed and a widening humanitarian crisis
The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip continues to deteriorate as Zionist attacks persist and the repercussions of the siege escalate, while raids on civilians continue and the basic services crisis worsens, while thousands of displaced people and residents face a harsh reality between the bombing and the lack of medical and humanitarian resources.
The successive developments on the ground reveal that the aggression was not limited to military operations, but extended to include various aspects of life, from targeting civilians and shelters, to disrupting rescue and ambulance capabilities, in conjunction with the continuation of violations in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, reflecting the widening circle of targeting of Palestinians, their lands and holy sites.
New martyrs
In the latest escalation, three Palestinians were killed and others were injured as a result of a bombing carried out by a Zionist drone that targeted a tent in the Al-Maslakh area, south of Khan Yunis city, in the southern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources reported that the martyrs were Rashid Nayef Rashid Al-Qadi, Hussein Bassam Hussein Al-Qadi, and Bassam Al-Qadi, while the wounded were transferred to hospitals for treatment, amid the continued efforts of ambulance and civil defense crews to deal with the effects of the bombing.
The outcome of the aggression
Amid the ongoing attacks, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the total toll of the Zionist aggression since October 7, 2023 has risen to 73,110 martyrs and 173,599 wounded.
The ministry explained that hospitals in the sector received 8 martyrs and 17 new injuries during the past hours, noting that the number of martyrs since the ceasefire came into effect has reached 1,084 martyrs, in addition to 3,491 injured, while 799 bodies were recovered.
The ministry confirmed that a number of victims are still under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams continue to face difficulties in reaching them due to a lack of resources and dangerous field conditions.
Civil Defense in Shallal
On another front of the humanitarian crisis, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip appealed to the United Nations and international humanitarian organizations for urgent intervention to repair its vehicles that have stopped working at the “Al-Rimal Civil Defense” center.
The center’s director, Lieutenant Colonel Nizar Al-Bardini, confirmed that three professional vehicles, including a fire, rescue and ambulance vehicle, are still out of service for the twelfth consecutive day, as a result of high maintenance costs and a shortage of spare parts and necessary oils.
He explained that the breakdown of these vehicles hinders the response to distress calls, and deprives thousands of citizens and displaced people in the western areas of Gaza City of rescue, firefighting and ambulance services, at a time when risks and humanitarian needs are increasing.
He pointed out that the Gaza Governorate has become completely dependent on the “Al-Tuffah Civil Defense Center” to cover emergency tasks, which doubles the pressure on the crews and affects the speed of dealing with incidents.
Forced displacement
In the West Bank, violations against Palestinians continued, as the Zionist enemy forces, accompanied by settlers, forced the residents of Khirbet Saeed near Ya’bad in the Jenin Governorate to evacuate their homes.
Palestinian sources reported that settlers stormed the homes of the village and assaulted its residents, before enemy forces stormed the homes and forced the four families living in the area to leave.
The sources explained that the enemy forces informed the families not to return to their homes, while the families remained in the open without shelter, in a scene that reflects the continuation of the policy of displacement and pressure on Palestinian communities.
Continuous escalation
In occupied Jerusalem, dozens of Zionist settlers stormed the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of enemy forces, and performed Talmudic rituals inside its courtyards.
Sources in Jerusalem reported that 112 settlers stormed the mosque during the morning period and carried out provocative tours that included epic prostrations and religious rituals in the eastern portico area, amid strict restrictions imposed on the entry of Palestinian worshippers.
These incursions come as part of a series of escalating violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, as the Palestinian Information Center “Ma’ta” documented hundreds of violations during the month of June, in addition to the storming of the mosque by thousands of settlers during the past period.
