IRGC announces targeting of US bases, facilities in Jordan, Qatar
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Sunday the destruction of a command and control center and hangars for MQ-9 drones at the Prince Hassan US base in Jordan, in addition to targeting a violating vessel in the Strait of Hormuz and shelling facilities at the Al Udeid US base in Qatar.
The Iranian news agency Tasnim quoted the Revolutionary Guard’s public relations office as saying in a statement: “The criminal American regime, after imposing its will on the government of the Sultanate of Oman last night, attempted to repeat a previous experiment by inciting a number of ships to take an illegal route south of the Strait of Hormuz. However, this move was thwarted thanks to the decisive response of the naval forces.”
The statement added that the US military launched airstrikes on a number of coastal bases and communications towers on the southern coasts, confirming that it received an immediate and strong response to its aggression.
The Revolutionary Guard’s public relations office also announced targeting a second violating vessel in the Strait of Hormuz and shelling facilities at the Al Udeid base in Qatar.
In a statement, it said that, in response to the continued attacks by the US military on Iranian armed forces coastal bases, a second violating vessel was targeted and stopped in the Strait of Hormuz.
