IRGC : Strait of Hormuz Close Until Further Notice

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy announced on Sunday that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until further notice and until the end of US interference in the region.
The Iranian news agency Mehr quoted a statement from the IRGC Navy saying that attempts by several ships to navigate an unauthorized route through the strait, despite warnings, led to the targeting of one of the vessels, which had switched off its systems. Warning shots were fired, forcing the ship to stop.

The statement added that foreign interference and the designation of illegal shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a firm response. It warned that any new aggression will be met with a severe response and that new enemy bases in the region will be targeted.

The IRGC emphasized that Washington and the countries that allow their territories to be used as bases for these threats will bear the consequences of US-Israeli interference.
