Ministry of Transport: Targeting Sana’a Airport is a renewed act of aggression that perpetuates the blockade and targets patients and travelers.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works considered the Saudi enemy’s targeting of Sana’a International Airport a clear act of intent and Saudi insistence, with American and Israeli backing, to maintain the blockade on the airports and ports of the Yemeni people.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Transport said, “In a dangerous escalation, the Saudi enemy targeted Sana’a International Airport with a number of raids.”

He added, “The Saudi enemy’s crime of renewed targeting of Sana’a airport and violation of Yemeni airspace is a clear deliberate and persistent Saudi insistence, with American and Israeli backing, to maintain the blockade imposed on the airports and ports of the Yemeni people for more than ten years.”

The statement indicated that the Saudi enemy’s raids and targeting of Sana’a airport is an insistence on depriving thousands of patients and travelers of the most basic rights guaranteed in all international laws, constitutions and conventions.

The Ministry of Transport called on the United Nations, the international community, and international humanitarian organizations to assume their responsibility towards the suffocating blockade that the Yemeni people have been subjected to for more than ten years.

She also called on the United Nations to adhere to the principles of international humanitarian law and to deal with all cases of aggression and blockade with a single standard, away from double standards, indicating that the Saudi enemy’s targeting of Sana’a airport today came after a clear warning from the Yemeni armed forces, and with popular mandate, marches and tribal meetings.

The Ministry of Transport reiterated that the brutal Saudi aggression and the renewed and repeated crime will not go unanswered and unpunished, and let the Saudi enemy and its American backers know that the era of guardianship over Yemen is over and gone forever.
